Stayed here for one night after traveling over Arthur's Pass and on towards Franz Joseph.
Prior to arriving, Jan (hostess) was very communicative, offering suggestions on what to see along the way through the Pass. She also offered helpful suggestions for our onward trip - many of which we tried. We were so grateful for the tips!
The setting is spectacular - we walked the beach after arrival and literally met no one else along the way - it was like our private beach.
For dinner, rather than heading into town after a long drive and a spectacular visit to the Pancake Rocks, we purchased a bottle of wine from Jan and she made us a lovely and tasty antipasto tray, served in our room.
What really made the stay worthwhile was the open, friendly, helpful and down-to-earth nature of Jan the hostess/owner. We felt so comfortable as guests in her slice of heaven on the West Coast!More
