Communal areas are very nice, but our room (346) had a large ceiling beam running through the bathroom. Me and my girlfriend are both ~6 foot tall and neither of us could stand up straight within 1.5m of the toilet and it also intrudes on the shower such that you are almost guaranteed to bang your head trying to contort your way into the bath. Same rate as the rooms with a whole bathroom, and not told about this at all when checking in
One of the paintings from the wall was sat in one of the room chairs where housekeeping had found it/knocked it off and just left it there for us.
It was somewhere between 0 and 5 degrees C outside, and the room ac was set to cooling mode, and locked that way by the master control. It took two trips to reception and me googling the guide for the AC remote to explain to the desk why our room was freezing and not getting hotter no matter how much their maintenance guy turned it up on our remote.
The event that we attended there was catered by the hotel and the food was pretty mediocre. The panecotta deserts and the chocolate cheesecake were both awful so steer well clear of those. The decorations etc were good, although I have no idea what my work paid for them so can't comment on the value there.

20 odd quid pp for the breakfast buffet was poor value for money, especially as a veggie.
Furnishings are generally comfy and in good nick, and the staff are very pleasant and look to be as helpful as possible.
I would not come back, it is presented nicely, but the level of service etc is comparable to a cheaper alternative.More
