Here we go....
group booking for Onyx - a nice group dinner before heading across the road to watch a show. We were first served by a super friendly young guy to take our drinks order. After 20 mins we asked another server where our drinks were as our friendly young guy vanished and our two drinks didn’t show. She’s said they were coming. 35 mins later I walked up to the bar and spoke to a lovely young lady who said our drinks weren’t ordered, funny because I was told they were coming ...... and swiftly brought our drinks to the table. Food took around 40 mins which is normally fine when you’ve got a drink, meals were all fine. After a while our two drinks rocked up - we hadn’t ordered more. So kindly declined the drinks. 10 mins later another waiter approached the table with our original drinks order. At this point it was like a comedy. This is the most expensive restaurant in town, you’re paying a decent amount of money, you’d expect professional and prompt service. Once going to pay, our lovely swift acting server said that there were three unpaid drinks on the bill still. I informed her we only received a drink each, these must have been the additional drinks brought to our table un-ordered And lost in translation. The woman who didnt check up on our order, wasn’t apart of the conversation snapped back at me.
To be honest it wasn’t worth the discussion- I was truely over the “Onyx experience”. We sat in a ridiculously hot corner in the restaurant in pleather chairs. Our drinks took 35 mins and the snappy server honestly ruined the meal for all 6 people. Thankfully our drinks saviour was absolutely lovely and kind and was a delight!

We laughed about the terrible experience and agreed we wouldn’t be going back any time soon.

Please Onyx, I get mistakes happen and things go wrong but terrible attitudes and not following up makes a business look silly. It takes two seconds to ask if the drinks are coming to other staff, and apologies take two seconds.

Long rant over.

The only decent part of our meal was the beef ribs and the friendly staff.
We came here as a treat for NYE hoping to get half decent food here in the Pilbara. We ordered an entree each and a share platter.
The entree of oyster kilpatrick and prawns were not bad to start.
The share platter was really disappointing. The meat on the platter was dry and tasteless. No sauces to go with it and the "wagyu" beef sliders were like rocks & didn't have a bun on top, just on the bottom. Was strange to eat.
Considering you're paying top dollar, you're better off going elsewhere in town where there's a bit more love going into the food.
This place has so much potential as a venue but the price you're paying for average food feels like a rip off. The restaurant wasn't even busy and I can understand why.
As locals we won't be returning which is disappointing as we really wanted to like this place.
Staff were nice, the drinks were good too.

Ordered a calamari Greek salad. Absolutely doused in balsamic that it was uneatable. Calamari was so bland. Very disappointing for the steep prices.

Wandering over from the KI, great friendly ambiance. Staff all attentive, great food. I had garlic prawns followed by fish pie. My partner onion soup, followed by gold band snapper. We both enjoyed it. Maybe my prawns followed by fish pie was a little Sammy. fish pie maybe a fraction sweet.

A group of 5 friends. Food seemed to take forever, which was fine for us as we were wanting to have a chat, but did not work for others who had walked out, because too slow. Food was ok. And just that. Meets a little fatty. Menu was limited as things were not available. This caused issues for vegetarian friends. All up ok, but certainly over priced.
