“Quaint little place”
Review of Cafe Zuppa - CLOSED

We stopped by Cafe Zuppa for breakfast after walking up Katoomba street looking for somewhere that offered all day breakfast with a range of options and Zuppa ticked that box for us.

The inside of the cafe is fairly tired so a facelift would be great, that said, many of the Katoomba cafes have a similar look going on so it certainly is not the only cafe in the street that might need an update.

Service was fairly quick and all the staff were friendly and pleasant to deal with, menu has a good range of options and the pricing is good too. Personally I had the Canadian Breakfast which was really good but on both of our other ordered items the toast was burned black on one side which was a bit of a drawback considering it's a fairly straightforward thing to make. Overall it was a pleasant experience with a pretty laid back, family run kind of vibe.

The food was good but the staff are very very rude. It's a holiday weekend and they are busy, but no excuse for the rudeness

spare yourself grief and frustration and skip Zuppa. The food was terrible and the service was worse. I ordered a kangaroo burger and it can rare. I told the waitress that I couldn't chew through the raw meat and asked her to take it back to the kitchen to be cooked a bit more. She insisted that, "That's the way it's served, but I could take it away for you if you're done with it," as she was looking at the unconsumed burger. I had to ask twice more for the burger to be heated a bit more before she finally looked at the raw kangaroo meat and said, "Oh, let me see what we can do." She did get the kitchen to cook it a bit more, but it was still inedible. The rissoles my wife ordered were try and bland. But the kids enjoyed the lasagna, so the evening was not a total loss. One minor upside is that there's free wi-if, so you could write a bad review of the place while enjoying the terrible service.

The cafe seemed like it was family owned and run, which meant it was a laid back atmosphere - however the food is average. The chicken parmigiana is bland, tasteless and looked like it came from a packet.

But the food is cheap and you get what you pay for!

A decent enough place with friendly staff, foods good and with a shortage of places with wifi this is a welcome bonus
