Spent three days here to celebrate 38th wedding anniversary, found it relaxing and private, hosts were helpful and friendly, and the visits from the wildlife added to the experience. Town centre is only about five minutes drive away, with plenty of choices for eating within all price ranges, found the locals friendly and helpful.
Very well provisioned , neat and tidy, comfortable bed great wood heater. Individual chalets look great in the bush, lots of wallabies, possums and birds, with a short walk to the rocks and the sea view. Although a five minute drive from town center still handy, and overall a great stay, thanks Nick
We stayed in The Boathouse and were treated to a special experience. The unique layout and build, warm tones, the space and the absolute peaceful setting made our week very enjoyable.
A perfect place for relaxing and just listening to the waves crash over the rocks, and a variety of birdsong...that's all. Just what we needed. Very clean, with a warm rustic homey feel, great kitchen and BBQ, super comfy lounge for reading a book. Nice bathroom with a bath to soak in. We collected some herbs from the garden for our scrambled eggs and had Mr. Peacock visit on the back verandah to show off his brilliant plumage!
Nick and Arabella were helpful with everything and I highly recommend Bicheno Hideaway for a stay if you like peace and quiet in a wonderful coastal bushland setting.
Bicheno town is just down the road with "The Gulch" fish market offering the freshest seafood.
We will certainly be back for another stay sometime and are glad to have found this gem!
We had a wonderfully relaxing time in the great cabin. Our kids loved the unique shape and layout, as well as the peacocks. Fresh eggs, milk and coffee on arrival were very welcome and Nick kindly lent us body boards for the beach. A great stay, thanks.
Four nights at Bicheno Hideaway was an away from it all experience. The setting has rustic charm and abounds with wildlife, with the sounds of the sea adding to the sense of relaxation. It is a few short steps to the rocky shoreline and a footpath leads northwards to the nearest sandy beach, about 20 minutes away. We stayed in The Boathouse, an extremely spacious and highly distinctive property, with a large deck facing the sea and two smaller decks leading from the main bedrooms. Interesting artwork adorns the walls. Chances are that you will never have stayed in a property quite like this! The owners, Nick and Arabella, were kind and helpful but not in any way intrusive. Recommended.
We absoloutely love this spot, So quite and peaceful... I would highly reccommend! We stayed in the boathouse for 4 nights it was very spacious, comfortable, fully equipped with everything you need. It's nice to have so many rooms allowing everyone to have their own space with a very large and open living area too. My favourite part is the abundance of birds and wildlife around the property and the amazing private views over the ocean just a few steps away...
