We arrived at the Comfort Inn on a cold, windy and wet day. The welcome was warm and our cottage called Casino was quaint and felt lovely and cosy. But it was hard to heat. The room was cold when we arrived (not very welcoming) and the reverse cycle heater struggled to warm the room due to the high ceiling and a light-well that seemed to cause a draught. This pretty little cottage would be better suited to warm weather and not the freezing, stormy day that we stayed. The cottage had an open fire which we were invited to light but we were warned not to use it unless the heater unit was switched off because it sucked smoke into the room. It was way too cold to switch off the heater so the fire was not used. Shame. It would have been so cosy.
Despite all this we enjoyed our stay. Port Fairy is a pretty little village. The people are lovely. We will visit again one day (but not in a winter storm) and would be happy to stay at Comfort Inn. More
