This guesthouse is well indicated, coming from Itaipava. We had some trouble entering the address in our GPS, using Itaipava. You will probably have to use Petropolis as city, even though Petropolis actually is more than 30 minutes away. It is located in a guarded condominium site. It is situated quite high and the access and drive way can be quite steep, but all are well paved. The elevation make sure you have a great view of the valley. We were warmly welcomed by Maria, who took good care of us. There are a view cats around and two friendly (but a little scared) dogs. The house is well designed and has lots of space. There is a lovely terrace by the pool and also the inside eating area has great views. We were in the Loft room, which to our surprise wasn't higher up, but one floor down. It constists of a living room, kitchen and bedroom. It has a fire place which was nice because the weather was a little chilly, especially at night.
We stayed on a Monday and were the only guests. The Pousada also offers dinner service. There is a good and varied menu, but Fernando (the owner) and his staff are excellent cooks so any suggestion he makes is good. We had a power cut due to the rains but there is emergency lightning and the bistro was lighted with candles. It didn't interrupt or influence our night. The wifi is free and good everywhere.
Fernando is an excellent host who speaks French, also, and his staff are friendly and very welcoming. We had an excellent stay here.
