We walked to the hotel in about 20 minutes from train station. Public transportation available. Hotel lacks really any amenities, but a respectable breakfast was free. You could by drinks at the reception but that was about it. A very small lobby. Rooms are a bit dated without A/C. Wifi was free but slow. Room selection is absolutely key. The street is very loud with traffic and late night bars. Far better off the street. Had a strange incident when smoke from a small fire next door worked into the halls. Drunk guest used a hose to but it out but the desk clerk seemed unable to get a handle on things. The problem was more with the drunk guest than the smoke. Walk to Old Town is less then 10 minutes. Not far from the Jewish Quarter also. Hotel rates in Prague can be cheap at times. Its not that I would not stay here again but I would look elsewhere first.

Room Tip: Must be off street

I stayed in Residence Bene 3 nights (1-4 July 2017). Its main advantage is very good location: some 500-600 m from Staromestske Namesti, some 100 m from Namesti Republiky and some 1.2 km from the central railway station. The hotel does not offer any extras, but it is quite cozy. My room was large, equipped with a wall-mounted TV, a refrigerator and a hairdryer, but there was no telephone in it. The hotel is presently being renovated, and therefore access to a small balcony in my room was blocked. There is a smoking area (a balcony near the staircase) on each floor. Moderate buffet breakfast is served on the ground floor between 7:30-10:00 am. Receptionists are very amiable and helpful. Summing up, my stay in Residence Bene was pleasant enough.

Our room had been recently renovated.....nice wood floors, new furniture and comfortable bed, and a very nice tiled bath with walk-in shower. We may have been the first guests to use the room. Good location that was convenient for exploring Prague. Our room had an electric kettle and cups, but no tea or coffee (I was able to get some tea bags from the desk when I asked). Nice size refrigerator, but no microwave (which we didn't need anyway, although it looked like there was a built-in space for one, maybe it just hadn't been installed yet). There was only some liquid soap in the shower, no shampoo or other toiletries (recommend that you bring your own). We did not like the towels at all....they felt like sandpaper. Like drying yourself with a loofah sponge. The weather was quite warm while we were there in the beginning of June. The room did not have an air conditioner, but did have a good slender, tall, oscillating fan, which was nice. We left the windows open on warm nights with the fan going. That made it comfortable, but a bit noisy with the bar scene below. We were on the 5th floor, so it was tolerable. On Saturday night/Sunday morning, a few were still going at 5 am. We still were able to sleep, although it was a bit annoying. Not the hotel's fault, as it's just the location on Dlouha Street. The included breakfast was adequate. Hard boiled eggs, some meats and cheeses, yogurt, some fruit, cereal. Very good homemade bread and very good coffee.. The pastries were just OK. It is a small area, so it got crowded. The ladies who took care of it were very good though. Replenished the food and cleaned tables in a timely friendly manner. The desk staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a good stay in a convenient location in Old Town at a good price.

Arrived 26-6 for three days, very good and professional survive at the reception. However I was shocked when I have seen the breakfast, very limited, the eggs are available only the first 30 minutes, two waiters were over loaded that you need to wait until you get the service. Limited number of dishes in the breakfast that you need to wait until the waiter washes a dish for you. Towels were rough / old and there is no air conditions.

Arrived on Sunday the 18th of June .Hotel appeared quiet. No indication of the work that was going on in the hotel nor mention of it at the time of check in .Room appeared tired and a little shabby and towels in particular were old washed out and very hard. The rooms were on the second floor at the front facing a busy road There was no air conditioning but a floor fan .The weather was hot so the windows were open and it was very noisy well into the early hours so sleep was difficult .

Breakfast was limited both in quantity and space .Work was being I undertaken with a lot of drilling and hammering .We were on the second floor and on the second morning we were woken by renovation works in the room opposite .The work stated early in the morning and was unexpected and alarming to be woken by such a noise .Drilling and hammering continued well into the morning and was still on going when we returned to the hotel that evening .Furniture was stacked in the corridor outside our rooms and was a hazard if their had been a fire .particularly as there was no indication that such extensive work would be going on during our stay .When we raised our concerns it was the receptionist that we had to deal with .The manager was conspicuous by his absence and she was ordered to offer us 550 krona as means of compensation .We felt sorry for her as she was evidently embarrassed and on the front line .When we were leaving the following afternoon other people were booking in and the receptionist dealing with them could not make herself heard above the noise.
It would have been better if the hotel had closed for a period of time to allow the renovations to be completed .Better still it would have been appropriate to inform people at the time of booking about the extent of the work that was being undertaken to allow them to decide if Bene was the best option in relation to their accommodation choice for their break .Prague is a beautiful city but the hotel experience and complete lack of customer care was not good .The reception staff were courteous and polite Breakfast staff appeared disinterested and did not speak to us at all.

Room Tip: quietest rooms are on the higher floors. Before booking it might because to ask if work has been com...
