Spent 4 nights here on a business trip (conference in the hotel) so didn't get to see as much of Gdansk, but this hotel couldn't have been a better stay-in accomodation:
nice breakfast, spacious conference rooms, excellent restaurant & brewery!
The old city of Gdansk is just a few minutes' walk away, across the water. The view on the old city from the hotel is beautiful (although it depends on the room).
I stayed in a room in the new(er) 'yachting' part of the hotel, which had comfortable twin beds and an excellent shower.
Only improvement I could think of: the (open!) wifi was not as good as it should be in a (conference) hotel in 2015...

The hotel was of a very high standard. The room was modern, stylish and spacious and the buffet breakfast was excellent with a large selection to choose from.
The on site Spa was also excellent, the treatments were very good and were value for money.
The hotel is in a perfect location to explore Gdansk.

Stayed for three nights as a couple. The room is clean, and the view from the room is very good, but there is only on tiny window in the room, so don't expect a panorama. The hotel is a very iconic building, and it is only a 5 minute walk from the old town. Has free wifi, but the stability was so-so. Free spa for the guests, containing a finnish sauna, a steam bath, an ice cave, and some other things. Breakfast buffet was quite good. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Stayed at hotel Gdansk, in the old part of the hotel, two nights in October 2015. Nice, clean rooms, good size bathrooms. The hotel in general is good value for money. The rooms facing the harbour have the best view, but the restaurant can be a bit noisy in the evening.
The lobby may be a bit small, but if you need to hang out and wait for someone or something, you can always go into the bar/restaurant that is in the same building and has a door straight to the lobby.
The hotel has a lovely SPA, with a good range of high quality treatments available and sauna/steam bath/ relax-area, that is free for hotel guests. Bring your bikini :).
All in all, Hotel Gdansk offers great accommodation, staff eager to please, and a wonderful location on the bank of the river, and just a five minute stroll from the old town. I would recommend it to anyone!

I recently had a five night stay at this hotel, and overall I had an enjoyable stay. I felt the reception staff were very nice and helpful, and quite attentive as well. That last point is important, especially since this hotel has many visitors, it's a busy hotel. So the fact that the reception staff were extremely helpful and efficient impressed me. In fact, on the afternoon that I first arrived I asked to use any available computer the hotel may have. And immediately the reception staff called for one of the porters who brought me to the new wing of the hotel, and in the bar area of the new wing the porter set up a laptop for me to use. I was quite impressed with the extremely attentive and efficient service.

My room was in the older Granary building, on the sixth floor, the top floor. I was perfectly fine walking up the few flights of steps from the elevator, since I traveled fairly light walking up the stairs was no problem for me. My room was a little small, though the bathroom was a decent size. The one bright spot - and it was a wonderful bright spot - of my room was the view out my small window. The view of Granary Island, the Motlawa River, the esplanade in front of the Old Town, the giant Crane, the various boats and ships sailing and moored along the river, the spires of the Old Town Hall and the other buildings of the Old Town, and of the massive brick St. Mary's Church, the view from my room was absolutely charming and delightful.

Breakfast was quite hearty and delicious. My first evening at the hotel I ate at the hotel's restaurant/brewpub, and maybe I was lucky, for the waitress who served me was quite nice and friendly, and she offered efficient service. My dinner of soup and a main of salmon pierogis was nice - the salmon peirogis were absolutely delicious. And the dark beer I had from their brewpub was quite good.

What stands out for me about this hotel is the great location, the charming view of Gdańsk from my room, and - considering how busy the hotel gets - the surprisingly efficient and friendly service. I would recommend this hotel to those who visit Gdańsk.

Room tip: I would say the west-side rooms on the top floor have the best views of Gdańsk.
