Where to start? Milan was a great guy and could not do enough for us, he took us to bled in the morning and bought us back in the evening, offered great advice as to what to do at lake bled. He recommend we try rafting which turned out to be reasonably priced and very fun. The breakfast was very nice and more importantly FREE, we also opted for dinner which was amazing! Milan went the extra mile, took us to a really cool bar in the town and made sure we got to the station for our early train, even cooked breakfast earlier for us on that day. As well as treating us like royalty Milan was also a funny guy, as were the other guys running the hostel.

Best hostel I've visited by far.

I stayed in Jakelj In July this summer with 8 of my friends. Milan, the guy who ran the place, was a great help. He dropped us to the lake every morning and picked us up every afternoon. It was one of my friends 21st while we were there and Milan made her a cake and a traditional Slovenian barbecue, which was delicious. The room was big enough and we had our own bathroom. It is about a five or ten minute drive to the Lake itself but Milan will drop you down for free, no problem. There is a supermarket within walking distance which is handy. Breakfast is served every morning before you go off to partake in the many activities on offer. All of which can be organised conveniently by Milan. All in all this is by far the best hostel I've stayed in and would definitely return.

We stayed for 3 nights, but wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was very very friendly, did everything for us (from free drives to the lake to preparing breakfast early in the morning). Dont expect too much from the rooms, its not a hotel! You wont find all the luxury that you can find in Bled, but instead of that you'll meet the real, warm locals, who are doing everything for you to make your stay a wonderful stay. Its nice that you can enjoy and combine the silence and peacefulness of the mountains, outdoor actvities (like canyoning, rafting, hiking), and tourism in Bled. Also, its a perfect stop when you're travelling to croatia!

This hostel is situated some 7km from lake Bled, which is good. Also the price was better than other places. The breakfast was ok and the stuff was quite helpful.
Yet our double room had quite short bed, my boyfriend had problem with his legs... Secondly, the linen on our bed looked like we were not the first using it... The hostel in general seemed to lack "womens presence". The bathroom was so so and noone cleaned anything during the whole week we stayed there. We had to ask for toilet paper ourself, for towels, and soup was not even available. :-) But we were only upset when the owner anounced us (at 10 in the evening after we got back from demanding trip) that he needed our room and that we had to move to another room because of some family that arrived! We had told to the owner how long we were supposed to stay so it was surprising and very incovenient. So after all little and bigger things we left one day earlier. I think for easy going backpackers its ok but later in Slovenia we found nicer places, that offer much better quality for the same price. The trick is to book nothing online but rather look for the offers while you drive. There are many B+B everywhere. So you can see it before you book it.
