I realy liked Aladin hostel. The staff was great, realy friendly and willing to do just about anithing to help. The room, private with french bed was great and comfortable it was also very clean and guests in general looked happy there. I would come back any time. P.s. Renting a bike is a great option:) Thank you for everything. Ben

Although this hostel is located at some 20 minutes from the city center of ljubljana (or a cab ride for 4 euros), it is a great place to stay! The owners are extremely helpful and kind. I got the feeling they really knew each of their guests: you're not just a number. All the rooms are very clean and the travellers that visit hostel aladin tend to meet up and visit the city together. The services they provide are well organised, like the pickup service from the trainstation, renting a bike or laundry. Extra tip: take the bike to the forest and lake that are just around the corner!

The room was great, especially as we'd just gotten off a 12 hour train sitting on the floor. The position isn't optimal, however the staff are very friendly, the beds were comf and the cooking facilities were more than what I needed. I accidentally left my driving license at the hostel and the manager quickly agreed to send it all the way to England which was a very nice touch. I'd definitely recommend going here!

Room Tip: Definitely rent a bike here, it's cheaper than most places as makes getting round a lot quicker!

Just recently returned from a trip that comprised of a selection of hotels, hostels and apartments in a variety of places throughout Europe. Sadly, the Aladin was a low point and I say sadly because the owner really tried his best to look after us, but this didn't deflect from our overall disappointment with the place.
The shower leaked, the ground floor room was unbelievably hot and cramped, it was way out of the town centre. It had the aura and feel of an ex-nightclub and was a bit seedy and run down. We were extremely thankful to only stay the one night.

This is not the best hostel you've been to, definitely not. But for the price it is ok, it is a bit farther from the centre but buses go regularly, and if you are used to walking, its no problem (15-20 minutes to the centre walking). You can also walk through a beautiful tivoli park which will make the way to the centre much more pleasant. The kitchen was tiny, but it was clean while we were there, so were the bathrooms and showers. One thing that really wasn't ok was the wifi. It disconnects you every other minute, if you need to use the internet while you travel, it can be very annoying. The corridors on the first floor have no windows (as far as i know) and it really does smell of cigarettes in the corridors. But the staff is very helpful, they make up for all the drawbacks the building itself has. It is rather a quiet hostel. but we visited in october, not sure what its like during high season. Overall, there are things that can be improved, but for the price, it was all right. Thanks for a nice stay!
