Large room, comfortable beds, friendly and helpful reception staff, luggage room, good location, two mins from a metro stop, hairdryer in the room and modern bathroom.

Only negative was the bathroom floor wasn't sloped correctly meaning the whole floor was soaked all the time.

Go to Matula Bistro for dinner - really recommend!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights during a trip to Budapest. The hotel is based in a great location and is walking distance to most of the tourist attractions around the area. The room was clean with a modern decor, the bed was comfortable and the shower was good - only criticism was that the shower room was a wet room which meant that the whole bathroom floor was wet for ages. The staff on reception were very knowledgeable and helpful. We had a good stay until the last night when I noticed an item of clothing had disappeared from the room, again the reception staff were helpful but no resolution to the missing item of clothing which was extremely disappointing. For a budget hotel we had a good stay just tainted by the mystery disappearance!!! I wouldn’t return here for that reason only.

Came as part of a very good package offer. Used Hoppa to get from airport but is a short walk to Budapest main station. Fairly basic reception although room was a good size. Comfortable beds and good bathroom and shower. Hotel does not have in-house bar and restaurant but has an internal door to bistro next door where breakfast is served. Breakfast was fairly basic. Hot food was scrambled eggs and mini frankfurters. Hotel is well located in the city and would certainly return.

Very nice hotel in fairly central position, Not far to Margaret bridge and easy access to metro and trams.
Room was small but clean and adequate. Yes as others have said the shower could easily flood the bathroom but we just were aware and directed the water differently.
Breakfast was fine in the little bistro next door, plenty of choice.
Reception staff on the whole very helpful.
The only criticism I would have of this hotel is no tea and coffee facilities in the room.
All in all a very good city hotel and at a good price too.

Room Tip: Rooms at front of hotel do suffer main road noise

Came back to Budapest for another 3 night's break and stayed at the City Hotel Ring, which was fully renovated last year. The staff at reception area all very friendly and speak good English. The rooms are very good, tall rooms about 10 feet high with windows to match which overlooked a baroque courtyard which looked amazing dusted with snow. Looking into the courtyard meant the room was very peaceful. I love a hot powerful shower and the wet room certainly gave that, toilet and sink with large mirror. Lots of storage space comfortable and warm. Could not fault the room, hotel or staff in any way whatsoever we will definitely be coming back again. That's the 3 night's over tonight and tomorrow morning we catch the train to Prague, the train station being about 200 metres up the road.
There is a bistro which is part of the hotel complex where the food and drink are to die for. The food is very reasonably priced and the drinks are as cheap as chips.
