This is a beautiful hotel in an historic neighborhood with a friendly staff and some excellent advantages. The environment surrounding the Hilton is a charming, cobblestoned wonderland for anyone who enjoys baroque architecture and nice stroll. Vehicles are somewhat restricted and thus traffic isn't as heavy as you'd think. On one side you have St Stephens Church and the Maria Theresa Palace, and on the other side are quiet narrow streets with plenty of small, family-run coffee shops and restaurants.
Getting to the Pest city centre is easy: Take the number 16 bus in front of the post office down the street, walk, or take a taxi. You can purchase bus tickets inside the post office making for a ridiculously affordable outing.
The hotel and room interiors (I've stayed here several times) are new, modern and have relatively fast WiFi. Ask for a room with a view of the Danube and Parliament (see attached photo) preferably on the 5th floor. I would recommend the breakfast buffet if you can get it included with your room; it was an excellent start to each day.
Whilst the Castle Hill district is quiet compared to it's counterpart across the Danube, I've always preferred coming home to its historic, relaxing environment..More
