Very nice setting out the back with some live music. Food on the whole was excellent quality for a good price. The local wine was really good as well.

We happened to find Zeller on TA when we first arrived in Budapest with friends. Although the restaurant was quite busy, we were able to land a table as it was early in the evening. Food, service, wine; all were excellent. Staff was friendly and quite attentive the first evening.
My wife and I ate there again just before leaving Budapest. It was a Saturday evening and we were able to get in at 6 pm if we promised to be done by 8 pm. The restaurant wasn't busy while we were there but we could see how things were going to pick up. Service wasn't quite up to our first dinner - less attentive even though there were plenty of staff on the floor. I have dropped it one star as a result. Food and wine were still very good and I would go back.

We booked Zeller for one of our parties birthday prior to leaving UK, having read good reviews from various different sources.
We arrived at our arranged time and were shown to our table straight away. The premises are very nice, and that is the only reason I have scored it so high.
A glass of prosecco was given to us on arrival, but things started to unravel from then on.
About two minutes after taking our seat, we hadn't been shown the menu, and a waitress came up to our table with three bowls of soup. Five minutes later she was still wandering around looking for the correct table.
Six of our party of eight ordered starters. The small fish in supposedly crispy batter arrived in a little cone, and were not crispy. The beetroot medley was about the best thing anyone had ordered. The soup I had ordered turne up 15 minutes after everyone else had finished, even though our waiter was reminded three times that it hadn't arrived. When it did it was luke warm.
The main courses were very limited in choice, and when they turned up we were all amazed at how small the portions were, considering the price.
Four of us opted for the chicken supreme. A very small piece of chicken breast, a very small chicken leg and three balls of cottage cheese in rice. The ribs were probably the best choice, but again a very small portion, and very little salad with them.
The place wasn't that busy, yet trying to get our waiters attention, or even find him was extremely difficult. Possibly because he was outside having a smoke on at least three occassions.
We all went in to Zellers looking forward to a good evening, and all left feeling very let down. Far better places to eat close by, and at far lower prices.

Zeller Bistro has just got something different. The beautiful decor certainly gives it a wow factor from the moment you walk in.

I opted for the beef cheeks, and my friend the chicken supreme. The portion sizes were reasonable and the food well cooked and nicely presented.

For dessert my friend chose the carrot cake, and I opted for the cheesecake. Both were delicious.

The little touches, the complimentary glass of proseco and mini cup cake, make it feel cosy and friendly.

For mains, dessert and two glasses of wine our bill was 14,000 forint... excellent value for money.

The place looks small and dark from outside but it is big and has beautiful decorations inside. I enjoyed the traditional Hungarian food and beer.

We were lucky that we got table despite very last minute booking. We were there on Sunday evening and they got jazzy accoustic performance. So lovely!
