Waitress lied us about cafe's closing time - she said that cafe will be closed at 9 o'clock, and didn't let us have a evening drink and cake :(
It's only small and it's made of chocolate. Well not quite but they had an amazing range of furniture, tables, chairs, settees all made out of chocolate. Delish. We had drinks and desserts, fab. Really nice, friendly staff. Loved it.
This chocolatier on the main pedestrian street also sells ice cream which is excellent in hot weather. But the real draw is the chocolate, particularly their hot chocolate which is thick, rich and appears to be prepeared simply by melting either a dark chocolate or a milk chocolate bar and pouring it into a demitasse cup. It is rich and very, very indulgent and satisfying. Be sure to visit the room in the back where everything has been made of chocolate including the sofa, the piano, the pictures on the walls and even the cat on the sofa playing with a chocolate ball of yarn. Outdoor seating is pleasant if you do not end up next to a smoker. The current fad is black vanilla ice cream, made black by the incorporation of charcoal in the mix; locals were snapping up cones of it. But I'd go for the hot chocolate.
While I really enjoyed the cake and hot chocolate I had, and I would fully recommend a visit, I was disappointed that nearly every offering had nuts or alcohol in it. Some simpler options would have been appreciated.
