An excellent museum, with clear, interesting explanations. Incredibly interesting to read about the evolution of money and see examples of different objects used for buying and selling. I particularly like the pyramid of coins weighing 871 kilos and the machine that calculates hie much I'm worth in gold, silver and platinum! Over weight people, your dad has come here! A great find and highly recommended

Went on a rainy day with my 11 year old niece, who ripped through the museum in about 10 minutes. You need to have patience to read the iformation boards, which seem to be well prepared. The pyramid of pennies was cool.

Even if you are not particularly interested in coins and money this place is fascinating. They have coins, early money and other valuables from around the world, including a huge pyramid of 1 million Lithuanian Litas coins. There are lots of fun activities for children, including interactive screens and quizzes, available in English, Lithuanian and Russian. There is also a guide who flits around the museum, who is really helpful and friendly and will answer any of your questions. She is particularly good with children and young adults and explains everything in a clear and interesting way, although I am not 100% sure that she speaks English, as we were speaking in Lithuanian.
