We had an amazing time in Tallinn and couldn't have asked for better accomodations. We finally were able to get a full night's sleep in mid-june since we had blackout drapes-in a rich mediaeval red velvet no less.
It really felt like stepping back in time. It is not everyday you get to stay in a place that was built 600 years ago.
Would not recommend for families with small children but would be fun for children 5 and up. It sleeps at least 5.
We took advantage of the sauna down in "the vault" and the candelabra for candle lit ambiance. We also brought our own food from the local supermarket Rini. Previous guests had left some items as well and we left some of our own items to add to the collection. Our only regret is that we wish we could have stayed longer. Unique place, great rates and friendly hosts. AITÄH!!!! (Thank you in Estonian)

Room Tip: Not for yng children- stone steps and ladders.

GOOD: Everything worked quite good. Kindly and flexible staff. There is hot water from shower, posibility to change temperature in room. Location next to Olde Hansa, but very quiet and peaceful place because apartment is in courtyard.
NOT-SO-GOOD: Little bit annoying smell in the bathroom. This is maybe too expensive because to small place and interior decoration was not so perfect. Toilet paper ended very soon. Little bit more work, then whole picture would be very nice in this price too ;)

Kuninga Apartments are located right off the main square in Tallinn. However, as you are back in your own courtyard, the place remains quiet. It was tremendously cool to be staying in our apartment, which was an extension of a medieval chamber. Despite the age, the apartments have various modern amenities, are clean, and up to date. We had a computer in ours, for example. The apartments also have their own security gate. While there is no one there round the clock, the friendly owner is always nearby to call. The apartments have strong wi-fi, but ours disappeared and never came back after our first night. This wasn't really too much of a problem because of the aforementioned computer. However, the room only had one window that opened, and in stuffy summer months a fan would have been a great addition. Otherwise, this was a great, pretty reasonable stay, and unlike many hotels--pretty unique and memorable.

This place has to be one of the coolest places we have stayed anywhere in the world. It dates back to 1461 as a former Bishop's house and is furnished with old world style complete with the original front door. Owner Hannele is one of the nicest people you'll meet and truly shows her passion for the place in everything she does. Kuninga is located in the absolute heart of Old Town Tallinn, just a mere "block" off of the Town Square, and is well protected with a security gate. And it's set back away from the street enough that it was very quiet at night. The price is surprisingly low considering what a great apartment it is in such a popular Scandinavian destination!

Room Tip: Steps to the two beds and bath in the basement of Old Chapel room are not standard sized (remember, built in the 1400s) and quite steep. Watch the kids on them.
