We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in June 2018. Right away we had a slight problem with the reservation and were moved to a room with two beds instead of one with a big one. Nevertheless the hotel room itself was in a good condition and had everything necessary in it.

The info booklet provided enough information to get started with a trip in Riga and the hotel in general. There was a very efficient air conditioning unit in the room, something that we started to appreciate in an apparently un-air conditioned city. The room was cleaned very well every day and there was a note asking for hopes and wishes.

Breakfast was nice enough with bacon, eggs, bread, fruits, juices etc to spare. There was a decent variety and everything was quickly resupplied.

The reception staff spoke good English but I was quite taken back by an incident where a hotel customer was calmly asking about his room and some mix-up related to it. After the man left, the staff grouped together to apparently laugh and quite possibly mock the man.

All in all, however, the experience was decent. There was nothing too special about our stay and we were provided with everything we might need as we spent most of the day just strolling through the city. I would recommend this hotel to everyone looking for a good location out of the tourist-ridden areas, and to people who won't be spending too much time in it.

Just stayed here for a stag weekend, the hotel is very clean, beds comfy and a nice shower.
Breakfast is ok and it also doubles up as a snooker hall.
Located within a 10 minute walk to the old town which has plenty of restaurants and bars and some nice walks.

You get what you paid, the reception lady was very rude when we asked for one more pillow, she said it is out of office hour to get a pillow from her!! Breakfast with quite a few choices and was able to fill your tummy.

Staff were rude and uncourteous – check in went ok, however if staff are on their mobile whilst you are waiting then you wait until they are done, then you can ask for a beer, or in one instance additional pillows, and then to be told “you have two pillows in your room”, yes, yes we do, but there are two of us, and they are the smallest pillows in the world, “I cant do anything now, we will have to see” is not the response I expected, to be fair 2 additional pillows did turn up some 2 hours later, although we had to put the covers on ourselves!! Breakfast was very nice, although you did have to ask for various bits to be topped up (coffee and orange juice forever empty). The room was basic and simple, with an old style big tv (not an issue in itself), only two English channels, one music channel, the other American news. Transport links good, and Lido restaurant up the road (150m) excellent. in need of modernisation considering it says it has been done recently. If you can’t do stairs then I would maybe avoid. It was cheap, and it did the job.
