Giverny Inn provided a wonderful experience for myself and my wife during our honeymoon. The room was comfortable, and had a great view overlooking Oneroa beach below. Breakfasts were fantastic as the owner cooked us fresh meals that were a great way to start the day. The family running the Giverny Inn were extremely friendly and hospitable, and we especially enjoyed the moments in the evenings when we were able to share a glass of wine and great conversation with them. There was nothing better than ending the day on the deck of the Giverny Inn with a glass of New Zealand wine and watch the sun set. Such a great experience that was made better by our time at Giverny Inn.

Giverny is a wonderfully quiet B&B situated in the hills of Waiheke Island overlooking Hekerua Bay and Little Oneroa Bay. It is a short 35-minute ferry ride from Auckland, and is well worth the trip.

The house is bright and clean with an abundance of natural wood, and the hosts are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The upstairs room (the Venus suite) opens onto a large private deck set in the trees, with another fabulous view. The room is spacious and comfortable, with an adjacent private sitting room. The grounds are filled with well-tended gardens of beautiful flowers.

Bruce cooks a delicious breakfast, and his thoughtfulness in bringing us afternoon tea with delicious local cheese with crackers was much appreciated, as were the beer and wine he left for us in the room's individual refrigerator. The outdoor spa (jacuzzi) with a view of the bay was also quite welcome after hiking the nearby trails along the beach and over to Little Oneroa bay for a picnic lunch. The restaurants in Oneroa are a 10-15 minute walk in the evening, with cabs available for the return trip.

Giverny balances privacy and luxury with good proximity to restaurants, hiking and other activities. It is ideal for those looking to unwind and enjoy New Zealand. We will definitely return.

Recently returned from a 4 night stay here--we loved the tiny cottage with its very private feeling. Great view of the bay...breakfasts are outstanding. Bruce is a very congenial host who will help with any reservations or suggestions.
