I have arrived at the hotel in June 2017, for the IEEE conference. The hotel is very big but is easy to navigate. The service is very good, exactly what you would expect of Marriott. The room service food was priced reasonably, but the main restaurants closed at around 11 PM and I needed to resort to microwave pizza quality stuff late at night (after all the conference meetings). There is a strip with plenty of nice restaurants, cheap and expensive, about a block away from the hotel. A train station was conveniently located on the same block as the hotel, so getting to the center of the city took only 15 minutes. The rooms were nicely prepared and comfortable. There was free wifi for Marriott reward members. The gym is very nice for an early workout. All in all this is a solid "A" hotel.

Pros:
1. Great service - as expected from Marriott
2. Plenty of food options a block away from the hotel (pizza, sushi, burgers, Italian, etc)
3. Easy transportation: train station a block away - (M - red line train) takes 15 minutes to get to White House
4. Property kept in very nice condition

Cons:
1. Lack of room service food after 11PM, as restaurants closed at that time aside from one crappy one

All in all, this place gets a A.

Room Tip: Any room would suffice, I had one with a view to the front of the hotel, nothing spectacular.

!Wonderful place to call home on a trip into the City! Our grandchildren love to swim so searched for a hotel with an outdoor pool. Beautiful grounds and excellent accommodations as we had a lovely suite on the 4th floor. Concierge Lounge food and staff was excellent, always being very gracious and making sure our every need was met! Also was close to the Zoo and National Gallery of Art Museum...great time was had by all! Look forward to visiting again soon!

Room Tip: Suite with pull out couch and plenty of room is a must when traveling with children!

We did not realize that all beds in this hotel are only "full" beds. The Marriott website states "Double Beds" and does not specify "full." It's only 6 inches narrower than the normal hotel bed (queen, look it up if you are from Europe) and a bit shorter, but still... A room with two king-size beds is, of course, significantly more. The place is huge, with over 1000 rooms and often hosts multiple conventions (we ran into hundreds of florists). Rooms and bathrooms are relatively small. However, the location is great! The Zoo is just across the street and the pool is great for kids.

We chose this location because it has an outdoor pool for our stay during the July heat. The rooms are nice but the bathrooms are too small. The concierge/club lounge staff is wonderful however the offerings are rather average. A big positive ... the location is superb for using the metro red line:)

I attended a Conference here and Douglas at the Elite desk was very helpful as well as upgraded us to a nice room. Michele at the Concierge desk was always available to answer any questions that you might have. Plenty of restaurants close by as well as Zoo is nearby so is Washington National Cathedral. Hotel has a nice swimming pool as well as well manicured gardens. Really enjoyed our stay.
