I saw that this place had great reviews but wasn't necessarily keen on another American fusion place. But I was pleasantly surprised -- the place is very funky; restaurant, cafe, bookstore, performance space -- nice homages to all kinds of interesting political and cultural figures, and the food was both affordable and surprisingly good. I took a big chance and got shrimp and grits; the grits were kind of cakes that were very well done and the shrimp were large and fresh, best of all was the lobster sauce. All in all very good indeed. Also they had key lime pie for dessert and it was very well done.
