Description: Lauriol Plaza Restaurant was established in 1983. Ever since then, we have become a landmark in DC. We are nestled in one of the most vibrant, diversified Dupont Circle neighborhood in DC. According to food critics and clients, we are popular for good food, good service and good prices. We have the most diversified clientele, who has a true passion for Mexican, International, Latin American food. This is the spot to see and be seen in the Nation’s Capital and, although, we are a large restaurant, in essence, we still remain the small neighborhood restaurant we once were back in the old days. We are proud to have served families and couples in the 80’s and their new generations in the 2000s, and, through engagement, weddings and reunions celebrations, we continue to serve them generation after generation. Since the moment you enter, you will be impressed with the scenery. Whether you sit in the main floor, the mezzanine, the rooftop or the outside patio, you will always see a stunning perspective of the scenery. Inside a mural of a Spanish fiesta covers one wall of the bar; the interior beyond is cool and urbane, all matte-black metal and white walls, with woods in four tones forming the curved ceiling and stair rails, the expanse is magnified by windows as tall as most of the neighborhood's entire buildings. Dog walkers, bikers and joggers pass through sidewalks as if they were part of the decoration in an urban film. There so much to see. We thank our loyal clientele and our hard working staff for making Lauriol Plaza the landmark institution is has become for the past 30 decades. So in your next visit to DC, please pay us a visit.

We stopped by for dinner without a reservation and got a table on the second floor just next to the kitchen.

The menu is too big but the food was really delicious. Also their drinks! I would really recommend people to go there for the food. The portions are BIG, so don't go for the full three course meal.

Our waiter was very friendly and polite but the staff was hanging around on the empty tables and watching videos on their phones. Not really enjoyable for the guests.

The decor and cutlery is a bit worn down. It not nice to get a plastic handled knife, regardless of the price range.

We had two mains, one shared starter, and three drinks. The total was just below 90 dollars.

Eating with a large group that went from 10 to 12 to finally 15 people before we arrived, the staff at Laurel Plaza never blinked as we changed our reservation twice before arriving. No Problemo is what we wanted to hear. Upon arriving our long table was set and pre-furnished with chips, salsa and guacamole as we asked. Perfect!

Drinks were great, mostly margaritas and mojitos but a few folks got glasses of wine or beer and everyone said theirs was fine.

In this group we cut portions of our entree orders and share with those around us so I got to try Fish tacos, Crab and Shrimp enchiladas and Seafood quesadillas. All were very good and i liked to texture and flavor of the quesadillas the best.

Fun place in a quieter DC neighborhood off the high traffic avenues.

We had lamb frajitas (daily special) and fish tacos (also a daily special) and were quite pleased. Consider that we moved from L.A. where Mexican food is better than DC, in general, so this well exceeded our expectations. The Gold Cadillac margarita was well made but a blended margarita was way too thick to suck through the thin straw.

This large restaurant features extensive outdoor dinning on 18th street. The Mexican food is very authentic and there is a wide variety of margarita choices.

I really can't think of a better outing, then enjoying Mexican food at this institution. The food is absolutely perfect, I recommend anything with beef, and the drinks are perfect for the experience as well. I've eaten here dozens of times over the years and never once been disappointed with my meal, they know how to make perfect Mexican food.
