Description: Bistrot du Coin opened its doors on Memorial Day of 2000 by Yannis Felix and Michel Verdon. The motto is French, Fun and Friendly, this is our guideline to bring you the best experience ever at Bistrot Du Coin. The word Bistrot is defined in French as a neighborhood restaurant where you can eat good food at a fair price. The typical color of a French Bistrot is pale yellow to brown (otherwise known as Bistre) because the walls used to get dirty quickly from nicotine. Bistrot Du Coin is also known for its parties, three times a year to celebrate famous French events such as Bastille day on July 14th, The Beaujolais Nouveau on the third thursday of November or The New Year's Eve.

Eating at Bistrot Du Coin is like coming home for us. It was one of our local favorites when we lived nearby years ago. Now we visit the DC area once a year and make sure to work in dinner at Bistrot du Coin if we can. They have an excellent selection of modules (mussels) cooked in a number of delicious broths. Served with excellent frites (fries) and some reasonably priced French wine, it's a meal thats hard to beat!

It had been years since we had been there and so when we were in the area for an art exhibit, we had to go. I couldn't wait to have my favorite mussels and fries aka moules-frites! I had Moules Marinières and my husband had La Traditionelle Mouclade de Charentes. We both ordered the half size portion which was more than enough along with a side of fries and their delicious, fresh baguette. The atmosphere reminds us of France and so does the service. Not rushed, the server not checking over and over to see "how it was tasting" but yet there when needed- a nice leisurely pace for dining.

This bistro located just above Dupont Circle offers typical French Bistro fare. The place is pricey for the quality of the food and service. Not much else on that side of the block, so there is little alternative for lunch or dinner.

Love love this place- why? the ambience of course!- I don’t care what other people say, I’m French and I adore this bustling place, loud and intimate at once, find your place at the bar, savor a Sancerre and a deep conversation.. the rest is magic. The food is not fine cuisine but just perfect.
Do not change a thing! Le bistro du coin is perfect as it is

Thank katal

My wife had the Normandy Mussels and I had the Hangar Steak. Both were good, but the mussels were particularly enjoyable. We spilt a molten chocolate cake; it was pretty typical. The service got off to a bad start when our server decided to save himself some steps and just take a basket of bread from an adjacent table and give it to us. Maybe that is a routine bistro practice somewhere but we were put off by it.
