I had heard about Baked and Wired, and went there with my daughter. The funky vibe is just the beginning. The caffe latte I had was terrific, as was a raspberry crunch pastry. Best of all was a fabulous piece of quiche. (I got the "Manly" with sausage and ham. The servers are friendly and free-spirited. Seating (indoors and outside) is a series of different seating set-ups, from communal to breakfast bar spaces. It seems to be popular with rowers coming off the water. I will definitely make a return trip.

Looking for a great cup of coffee and yummy dessert that will make you wonder why you go to Starbucks? Look no further. You may be entertained by a local musician while you wait in a line that hints at what awaits inside....

My friend and I wanted to try cupcakes from the different cupcake shops in Grorgetown, Baked and Wired was on our list. The first time we walked by there was a long line so we kept walking. We tried another night about 20 minutes before closing and walked right in. The cupcakes are very tall, taller than the average cupcake. They offer several flavors of cupcakes. We both ordered 2 each. There is seating both inside and outside but we ordered them to go. The cupcakes were good, but not excellent. They were more the consistency of cake.

They also serve coffee drinks in a different area, the drinks looked good but we didn't try them.

Yes, these are the best cupcakes in Georgetown and in DC as a whole. Forget about the ones from the show with the sisters based in Georgetown. Baked and Wired is fabulous and they even have gluten free!

We came here every morning for breakfast. It opens at 7. By 8, there was a line outside the door. We sat at one of the outdoor tables near the canal and watched the busy world go by. Since it was across the road from our hotel, we often made another visit later in the day when it was more quiet. We bought their Hippie Crack granola to give as gifts.
