On a short visit to D.C., my husband and I met our three adult children here for a delightful brunch. The day was cold and snowy, and after a fifteen minute walk from our hotel, we were pleased to find a warm, welcoming room and a very friendly staff. We ordered a round of classic cocktails before our meal after debating whether to order the half-price bottle of sparkling wine available during weekend brunch. Among us, we ordered the omelette, the "day after" breakfast sandwich (fantastic eggs, Italian ham, and pecorino cheese), caramelized banana pancakes, the breakfast burrito, and a lobster roll. All except the pancakes came with potatoes, though we ordered extra (yummy and crispy) frites. We shared an unexceptional creme brûlée and a bland cookie plate for dessert. I have to say that our view of dessert may have been colored by the fact that each of us ate every delicious bite of our main order, and had no business ordering anything more! Recommended!
