A much-needed 3 day getaway. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They made sure that all our needs and requests were handled right away. The lobby is quite impressive and a bit reminiscent of the Ahwahnee in Yosemite. The building and the grounds are pleasant and very well maintained. There is a market/restaurant and a complete spa on the property, as well as a hiking trail next door. The rooms are outdated, and well-worn to the point of needing a remodel. The bed was worn out and bouncy, the room had a massively oversized TV cabinet from the 80's in one corner with a flat-screen TV sitting on top. The counter and sinks in the bathroom were worn out and difficult to reach. When washing your hands and face, water goes everywhere! Half of the lights don't work, and the fireplace barely works. The room was clean and the staff was pleasant to work with. Overall, a bit overpriced for the worn-out room.
NOTE: The spa and hiking trail are quite popular, so if you leave the property for breakfast, you may not have a parking place when you return!

The service and location is beautiful and top notch. Highly recommend the hot tub rooms if you are looking for an extra level of comfort. Being a few minutes from Avila and Pismo Beach as well as SLO made this a great spot as you could head any direction and find places to go or things to do.

Fine place to crash for the night, but you can find a place equally as friendly, clean, amd with better amenities for about half the price. I was happy to pay the excessive price based on photos of the grounds that make it appear to be a cute, isolated Inn, but its literally in a business complex and not cute or romantic at all. If you want to enjoy a pool or jacuzzi, be prepared to walk to the club next door. Also not a restaraunt that is walkable...Best to drive into avila or slo for food, and probably for your hotel as well. If you like photos on this website, I'd check out the Apple Farm Inn in SLO which is actually cute to walk around, or head up the 1 for an hour to Ragged Point and stay over a 350 foot cliff with breathtaking ocean views for yes...the same price.

Great quiet location, very friendly and helpful staff, 24/7 coffee/tea, free parking, complimentary bikes offered. Our room was clean but in need of a refresh. Older TV, with limited channels and no movie channels, furniture was worn and looked stained, bathroom sinks were scratched with spots worn down to the cement, tub caulking separating, only three hangers in the closet, balcony wasn't swept and was covered with a lot of leaves. Our first experience with Avila Village Inn about 8 years ago was amazing, this time it fell short of our $350 per night expectations.
