We sent a night in the Water Street Hotel while on a road trip. The town of Apalachicola is a pretty little old fishing town. The hotel is right on the riverfront and each room has a large screened porch with a lovely view of the marina and river. Given what the mosquitoes must be like here on the river with lots of marshland, that's a great thing. Our room was actually a 1 BR suite with two full bathrooms. The separate living room had a full kitchen. The furnishings were attractive. The sofa was a pullout bed, hence the second bath.
The building is new and it feels it. Somehow it lacks charm. Our room was handicapped accessible (not because we requested it) and the layout was very odd, presumably because if this. There was no place to put anything in the bedroom or bathroom. No place to put luggage. Just no place, it was frustrating to put suitcases on the floor and have to constantly bend over for stuff. Minimal shelving in the bathroom, sink was a pedestal with no counter. Surely even a handicapped guest has stuff they need to put somewhere?
Everything was clean and new. This would be a great lace for a group or a family because of the extra space.

Room Tip: All rooms have a river view. DON'T accept the handicapped room unless you need those facilities.

The location is within walking distance of what the city has to offer, and is along the river. Each room has a view of the water and the docks. The pool area is somewhat small, but the pool furniture is in good shape. We had a one (king bed) suite that included two bathrooms, a full kitchen and a living room, in addition to a large screened porch along the water. The couch in the living room could have been cleaner, and 3 of the 4 coffee cups in the cabinet were stained. Overall I'd stay there again. But the town offers other accommodations that are competitive at this price point or lower.

Nedra suggested we would love suite 307. She was right! It has two bedrooms each with private baths a updated kitchen, large n comfortable living room, but the bonus was the 4 sets of glass doors leading out to a screened porch with the best view in town of the river!
We will be back next year for a longer stay. Thank you, Nedra.

We needed a handicap accessible room large enough for 3. This place was great. Easy to find. The room was easy to get to and plenty of close parking. A full kitchen, screened porch, and 2 full bathrooms. Helpful desk with good restaurant recommendations. Housekeeping needs to keep more soaps, shampoo, and toilet paper in the room.

This hotel is a hidden gem. Service is excellent , rooms are gorgeous and spacious. Decor in rooms ( we've stayed twice this year) is warm and inviting. Each room has a screened in balcony overlooking the river. Perfect for coffee in the morning or sunset in the evening. You can walk to all the charming restaurants in Apalachicola.
