I spent five days at the Sapodilla Keys last January and thought I was in heaven until I went snorkelling. There is a steady stream of plastic garbage flowing across the fascinating underwater life. I even watched our crew throwing plastic wrappings from fishing lures in the water. It is very sad to see such a gorgeous area being despoiled by man!

The weather was perfect ,the seafood was delicious, and the islands were largely unspoiled but not enough to make up for the garbage!

I have never experienced such a beautiful underwater world. Snorkeling off Caye Caulker, Tobacco Caye, and from the edge of a sailboat, you can see dozens of aquatic species such as eagle rays, nautilus, incredible tropical fish, nurse sharks, and more. Taking the Ragamuffin sailboat tours out into the Reef was an amazing opportunity to have unforgettable experiences and make life long friends. The two times I visited Belize last spring, I lived in the magical underwater world countless hours each day, and I'd go back in a heart beat. Just DON'T STEP ON THE REEF so we can preserve it for other generations to experience too!

I'm not a diver, but believe me, you can see tons as a snorkeler. I've snorkeled the Belize Barrier Reef many times. At Glover's Reef Atoll, Laughing Bird Caye, and just off the beach at my friends house. So many amazing fish and corals! And I've heard from divers that the Belize Barrier Reef is some of the best diving in the world. Don't miss it!
