“Nice coffee to-go”

Mickey's is a little snack shop on the side of the Burns Ave. I was looking for a quick cup of coffee in a to-go cup and Mickey's was the answer! $1.75 bze got me a nice cup of coffee (with options of cream and sugar) in a to-go cup so I could walk around San Ignacio while enjoying my coffee. I stopped by Mickey's for coffee nearly every morning during my week long visit to San Iggy. I also had a bean (vegetarian, no meat) burrito one morning and it was okay - it filled me up and was cheap (I think $2.50 bze) but wasn't worth writing home about.

FYI - Folks line up at the window to order food, and some people may accidentally budge you in line since it's a little unclear who has ordered and is waiting for food vs who is waiting to order. Overall though, this is the Belizean version of "fast food" - wait in line, stand at the window and order, and your food will be ready within about 5 min. So if you're in a hurry, Mickey's is a quick dining option.

I passed Mickey's Snack Shop and saw a large group of Belizeans lined up to order so I joined the line. I had watermelon juice, Indian bread (a fry bread toped with bacon, cheese, vegetables and a great sauce) and tostadas. The food was so fresh and delicious that I returned the next day. It is owned by a family with the mother cooking and the daughters taking orders. There are benches and tables outside on which to enjoy your meal.
