I have stayed at Cahal Pech on two different Occasions and all I can say is that it has a great atmosphere, view and mountain top pool. It has the flavor of Belize while at the same time great customer service. Cahal Pech wants you to come back to Belize...The staff is friendly, the tours are fun and interesting and the pace is relaxing...

Coming from a plush suite on the beach, this hotel was not quite what we expected, but that is not to say it was a bad experience. What makes this hotel is the people. Everyone we met was extremely pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our dinners at night on the patio and the atmosphere was wonderful. We also enjoyed the satellite TV in the rooms and our guides for our tours were great. The only set back was the room itself. The hammock had holes in it and the toilet rocked. However, these things did not matter as much. Plus, during our stay it seemed they were renovating the rooms so perhaps this is no longer an issue!

Cahal Pech was our first stop in Belize.

I emailed with the staff prior to arrival and felt very comfortable already. Once we arrived at Cahal Pech, the friendly atmosphere made us feel at home right away after a very long trip (we had a horrible trip with Continental Airlines, which lost our luggage).

We stayed three nights in a cabana and one night in a suite in their upstairs facility and had a very good experience. The rooms were clean and inviting.

The food and drinks were great and fairly priced. The staff was helpful, friendly, accomodating and very professional. Having a swimming pool on the facility was a great plus as well. The historical Cahal Pech is right around the corner and a great starting point for your ultimate Mayan experience.

We had a wonderful time and can recommend this facility without reservation! We would stay at Cahal Pech again any time.

The Cahal Pech Village Resort is a hidden gem high up on a hill overlooking the pleasant village of San Ignacio, Belize. Even though we travel to Belize often, we had never seen this property. We booked a cabana with AC. The cabana was clean and comfortable, and we loved the thatch.
The food is outstanding, some of the best I have had in Belize, and I have been coming to Belize over twenty years. The staff is helpful and friendly, they made us feel at home. The swimming pool is exceptional and the view over the village is breathtaking. We highly recommend the Cahal Pech Village Resort. You will not be disappointed!

My wife and I honeymooned at Cahal Pech and we thought it was great. It may appear rustic, but the atmosphere, staff, and rooms are wonderful and accomodating. We loved the Cabana as the deck was a super cool way to watch the thunderstorms without standing in the rain. The resort also set up a great package of activities. I would highly recommend the tour to Tikal and, for the more adventurous, try the ATM tour. Also, the food is fantastic. The fry jacks especially.

All in all, I absolutely loved the Cahal Pech Resort, as did my wife. We would love to go back and wish we had more time in San Ignacio.

To the other posts: a 'seasoned traveller' would have no problems with this resort and would appreciate it as a great place to stay.
