What else can I say about Sue, Carlos, Alexa and the Caribbean Beach Cabanas property that hasn't already been touched on in countless prior reviews. I will give it a try! This was our second visit to Placencia and we can safely say that we've found our "home away from home" in the CBCs for our future visits. To start, your wonderful experience begins even before you set foot on the property. The lines of communication with Sue is nothing less than spectacular! We were celebrating a birthday and Sue recommended a baker in the village, Merls Cafe for a birthday cake. I was able to order the cake and let me tell you, it was the best carrot cake we've ever had. But I digress....back to CBC :).
Our Maya Air flight was a little delayed coming from BZE but there was Carlos, waiting for us with a cute sign, whisked away our bags and off we went for a quick drive to CBC. Sue met us with a smile, cool scented towels and our welcome drink which were so nice after a redeye flight. Alexa showed us around the property and held our bags until our cabana was ready. We arrived at 9am and given we knew the town, we went to grab some much needed breakfast and a bucket of Belikin. The location of the CBCs right on the sidewalk is just perfect. Walk everywhere within minutes and no car needed.
I'd like to say that the ground of the CBCs is just breathtaking. No details goes unnoticed, NONE! Its truly those personal touches that make you feel right at home and so comfortable. The pool area, the personalized guest chalk board, bikes, the grill, the welcome basket, umbrellas, bug spray, the list goes on and on. If you need it, Sue and Carlos have it! We got settled into the Sol Cabana and fell asleep on the large patio. The lovely warm breezes were like a blanket and it was just so peaceful. The Sol Cabana is just so cute and very well equipped. Thermal cold cups, coffee maker, coffee and all the goods you'd need to prepare a meal. We loved the Sol Cabana!
We met another couple staying in the Casita who were celebrating an anniversary the same day as my boyfriends birthday so we had a big, double celebration at the pool. We are also planning another trip back to the CBCs with this couple as we feel we met some new friends for life. Sue, Carlos and Alexa decorated the pool area and Carlos ran down to Merls to pick up the cake. I swear, it was just so nice not having to worry about some of the small details-CBC has you covered! We even grilled some Barracuda by the pool that we caught on our excursion out to Laughingbird Caye! We were sad when it came to and end and Carlos drove us to the airport but all we could talk about was when we'd be coming back and with our new friends from Georgia.
There is a sign posted when you walk into the property that says " Come as a guest, leave as a friend". When it comes to the CBCs, Sue, Carlos and Alexa, this rings true loud and clear!
