We unfortunately didn't stay here on our trip but, we definitely will next time! We met Orlando and Cindy at a restaurant close to the hotel. We got talking and though we were not staying at their hotel, he found out we had to leave early the next morning, called our hotel and requested they make coffee for us at 6:30 am!!! I never got to thank him but, hopefully he sees this and knows that we have been raving about his hospitality to everyone we meet!

Orlando and Cindy are excellent proprietors that really care about the experiences their guests have, and all of their staff (especially Yvan) takes after them. They worked hard to accommodate my family (including my parents in their 70s). Orlando even picked us up personally from the airport and gave us a little mini-tour on the drive into town. I felt that I could trust their recommendations for what activities we should do, and they valued feedback from us about how the trips went. I am especially grateful to Yvan for connecting us with a local guy (Melo's Car Rental) who rented cars since I couldn't find any online during the holiday season. As for dining - if they recommend a place, go there! There are only a couple of truly special restaurants in Orange Walk, and they know where they are. Absolutely fantastic food!

Room Tip: The building in the back is newer and looks over the river, but we stayed in the front building and...

We stayed here for 2 nights in order to visit Lamanai. We had one of the back rooms which was very quiet. The room was decent sized with a clean bathroom. AC worked well as did the free Wi-Fi. The hotel is located on a side street close to the main square and walking distance to a couple of good restaurants (try Paniscea - a block from the hotel). We visited Lamanai using a guide arranged by the hotel - fantastic trip on the river. The only downside of the hotel is the very limited breakfast menu - bread, some fruit, coffee/tea. All staff members we met were very friendly and helpful.
