We walked from the cruise port (not a nice walk) and back.

The beach is long and inviting but since it is facing trade winds, you can get sand blasted on many days. There are some coves that are free of this but most parts are not.

The place is really nice! Left and right of the park are used by kite surfers and windsurfers. They put on a good show!

Better go by taxi or by car (if you have one).

This is a great place for kitesurfing and windsurfing because there's lots of wind. Also a nice beach. We also saw some birds in the grassy area. If you're into kite or windsurfing, I can't think of a nicer place. Also, this place is not far from the airport. One of the nicer beaches I've been to on Maui. Got lots of video of the kitesurfing and windsurfing which you can see on YouTube.

We had a "Beach Buddy" from Maui Humane Society and brought him by this beach to see if he liked the water (No)... it's a beautiful beach but is super busy with kite boarding lessons etc. Very cool but not a beach that you could enjoy for the day - unless I didn't walk far enough? Anyhow, it's a good place to stop by and watch.

Kiteboards, Sailboards abound! What a great scene with almost more boarders than you can count. We saw thirteen Kite boarders and four Sail boarders - always great pictures and a nice beach even for a bit of a swim (do be careful and cognizant of current conditions with the Life Guards). Always our last stop before leaving the island. Watch for lots of kitties and chickens around the parking areas too!

A beach park near the airport and many guys are trying kite surfing here. Not so commercialized. Nice spot for kite surfing and good way to kill time near the airport if you arrive early.
