“At the zoo, always a nice way to enjoy the outdoors”

Maybe we went at the wrong time, but at the majority of the exhibits we could not see any animals. We saw no gray wolves, no river otters, no mountain lion, no opossum, and no pygmy goat. Next time we will do more research and viewing the animals. We had a good time anyways

There are a few birds to look at. Bigger animals are behind chain linked fence and you rarely see them. The park itself is fine if no one is there. However, some parents are not watching kids well. Two kids covered in pee running around. Some kids pushing and yelling at little kids. No parental interaction. Not a good place for family

Splash pad, fun. Little sunken garden, pretty but entertaining for a toddler for all of about 4 minutes. Zoo, meh. We saw a wolf, a big old alligator, and a tortoise. Everything else of note seemed to be hiding. We lasted perhaps about an hour before my son got bored. I'm sure this would be of interest to a slightly older age group, but I wouldn't plan on more than a short visit. While I'm glad it's free, I wouldn't mind paying a small fee to increase the quality and diversity of the animals present.

Hey.....it's free and there are enough animals to entertain the kids for a while. As long as you know what you are getting into you won't be disappointed. Take your swimsuits and let them play in the splash pass after. Lots of space in the park to have a nice afternoon picnic.
