This is a great place for a relaxing day for families or if you just want to get away for a moment. As a plus the visit is free and if you have kids they will enjoy it. All you need is the time and maybe a picnic basket!

Small but cute zoo with rescue animals. It's free but there is a donation box inside . It's well worth giving $5.00 or more to help the animals and improvements.

The mini zoo is free and open most of the year. The Sunken garden has beautiful foliage thus a favorite for pictorials. There are also monuments to honor fallen local soldiers. Mastodian gallery ia another quick tour you can do. Great place to stroll. My pet ❤️ coming here. FYI: Dogs are not allowed in the zoo area though .

Phillips Park Zoo and the park in general are very well maintained and beautiful. Although the zoo is small, it is great for smaller children, as they can get "up close and personal" with the animals, as the cages and walkways are well designed for that. The flowers in the Sunken Garden are simple gorgeous, and make for a well-rounded visit. The entire park is a great place for a family outing, picnic, and hiking trails around the huge park. Wild life is supported down by the Mastadon Lake, too, where more animals in their natural habitat can be viewed.

Phillips park zoo is a great location in Aurora to visit with the family. The staff are very friendly. The zoo is on the smaller side, but there is plenty to see. It's an easy walk. There is a great reptile house. Overall, I really recommend this place for a great afternoon adventure.
