We were stay in Iberostar 8 days in November 2017. 3 days before a big renovation of that object - but it was not a probem. That was a great time. Nice, clean rooms, Marocan style lobby with free internet in it. Good european and local marocan food (maybe without a special regional dinner -Tajine was nothing special - better go to local restaurant in Agadir Marina and order local Lamb Tajine - 80Dh) . Very close to the closed hotels beach with free sunchairs and umbrellas. Nice animation for adults (after 9:30 PM) with dancers. In front of the hotel is a "train station" for 18 DHM you may go for Agadir Tour on little "car- train" (no schedule, but you hear the train bells ringing). Taxi from hotel to Souk Elhad 30DHM, to Mountain Kasbah abot 100-130 DHM. I recommend that hotel for family with kids.

We had a lovely time at this resort for 3 days.

My dad celebrated his birthday while we were there. Nassir organized a birthday dinner in the A la carte restaurant and the staff was terrific. Cake and singing!

My parents and I had a wonderful visit and enjoyed the pool and the beach.

Would visit again!

This Iberostar Founty Beach Hotel was exactly as we hoped it would be. Great location - on the board walk beside the sea. Excellent pools with plenty of sun loungers for everyone. The life guard made sure that everyone was looked after with loungers and parasols which was a lovely touch. Food was good and varied every evening. Our room was large with a side sea view - perfect! Staff were on the whole lovely and friendly. The hotel is now shutting for an extensive refurbishment - we could not find what they are going to find to improve to be honest as we were very impressed with everything. We will definitely return to Founty Beach again!

The main attraction - the pool area is good. A lot of sunbeds, but in the high season I could easily imagine running out of them, so people reserve at 8 with a towel (hate this practice). Pools are big and clean and the foilage around is very pretty. Animation around the pools is plenty so if you're into that you'd be happy. Both for kids and adults. Bad thing is that drinks are at the far end. They give them in very small cups (not reusable) and technically you should not take them with you to the sunbed but drink at the cafeteria. No one cares if you do though. We did not rest at the beach area besides this one time where we took a bath in the sea so I can only say that there is no drink bar there as Morocco does not tolerate drinking outside.
Main hall of the hotel is ok, a bit on the old side, but ok. The bathrooms next to it are not. You notice it straight away. They don't seem to be renewed for a long time. More like school toilets then hotel ones. Same with the hotel restaurant. Everything looks old and used. Walls, tables, chairs. After one day you get used to it of course. There is no possibility to eat outside which is a huge drawback for me. The food is a bit boring if you ask me, lunch being the worst meal of the day. There are some good dishes surely but several times my meat was chewy which got me reluctant to try the dish again. The service during meals is awfull. I think this is the biggest drawback of this hotel. No "thank you, please, sorry". They just throw meals at you or grab the plates and leave. There's a constant fight for a clean knife and fork. Nobody asks what you'd like to drink so to get a wine during dinner you need to catch a waiter and specifically ask for it. We were staying during Halloween and they've prepared a special theme diner party for it which was nice.
Rooms are very big and clean. Bit on the old side but it did not bother me at all. Cleaned every day. They all have a balcony with a nice side/front view to the sea.
One more thing, if you're not so fond of kids running everywhere you go then this hotel is definitely not for you. It can get really noisy at times.

Dear Michal,

Thank you for choosing our hotel IBEROSTAR Founty Beach for your recent holiday and for taking the time out of your day to send us your review.

Firstly, we are very sorry for appearing to not completely satisfy your culinary wishes during this most recent visit. This is very disappointing with passion for gastronomy being such an important facet of our company our talented team of professional chefs prepare a wide variety of both local and international cuisine using the highest quality ingredients available and also regularly rotating our menus to cater for all possible dietary requirements and please the most discerning palates, we really are sorry that on this occasion we were not able to conquer yours.

Regarding your comments on the service that you received in our dining room during your stay, we will take note of the improvement opportunities that your commentary offers us. Excellence in service truly is one of our strengths and we work with enthusiasm for it to remain so. We choose and train our staff following strict criteria and we believe that customer orientation and a personalized service are essential to achieving maximum satisfaction among our guests and we are sad that during your stay we did not achieve our goal with you.

Furthermore, it has been disappointing to read your comments regarding the amount of younger guests here during your holiday and we would like you to know that we do empathize with you, as it appears that, this was not what you were expecting. Our hotel is enjoyed by all age groups during the year, and the average age of our guests does depend on the season and school holidays. During these periods our hotel attracts a higher number of families travelling with children. We can only assume that during the period that you were staying, that we had an unusually high number of younger guests staying with us.

However, we are delighted to read that you were so happy with our pool area and also our special themed Halloween dinner party and that you appreciated the efforts of our dedicated housekeepers and you thought that our hotel was clean and spotless at all times. We know that a hygienic and disinfected hotel provides our guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay and it is one of the pillars of our company. Thank you for mentioning it in your review.

We would like the pleasure of your company in the not too distant future at one of our IBEROSTAR hotels and hope that you had a pleasant journey home.

Best regards,

Quality manager

Where to start?

Well.... the buildings and grounds are immaculate. Superbly presented, kept manicured and scrubbed clean.

The food is plentiful but bland. Watered down cuisine at best. Don't bother with the a La carte restaurant. It's rubbish.

The main restaurant is a hell hole of noise, screaming kids and parents losing the will to live.

This canteen doesn't appear in the photos for the hotel but be warned, there will not be an intimate or even pleasant dining experience. The hotel boasts a dress code, it is not enforced. Feel free to join the large groups of predominantly Russian guests in football tops for dinner or for drinks in the bar after - don't expect them to wait their turn mind at the bar or the staff to take any notice, don't worry too much they start early and are generally smashed by 9pm.

Drinks are free flowing, but the choice is very poor. The wine is appalling, truly vile. Whoever picked it deserves an award for managing to find something so poor. The choice is extensive in that there is red, white or pink. All of which strip tooth enamel and could be used to start a recalcitrant lawnmower.

Do not try the cocktails. To save you the bother I tried all of them. They all taste the same. Sugar water with a splash of fruit juice.

Beers nice though.

Do go to the evening entertainment. Delightfully naff in a hi-di-hi meets thumping techno beats kind of way.

The pool is the centre of the day activities. Various fitness classes are offered. All to the three songs the pool entertainment staff own. These are played on an endless thumping loop. Just go to the beach. That at least is beautiful and an escape from the music. Oh, don't bother asking if they have anything else, I tried that, doesn't work. Zumba starts and Justin sodding Bieber comes thumping out of the stereo.

Now the crux - they did give me food poisoning. Bad good poisoning. It was the only place we ate. We both got it and the hotel denied any other guests suffered. The maids and the communal toilets told a different story.... the staff were little, actually no help with this.

Our room phone was broken - buttons didn't work. 5 times we asked for it to be replaced. Never happened despite 5 promises to fix it. Ended stuck in the room for 2 days. The real kicker was when leaving carrying the cases down to reception and being told I should have called for a porter. I may have been curt...

This is not my first visit to Morocco, but is far from the best. It is my first time in an all inclusive, and the experience at this one was frankly horrid.

The area surrounding the hotel is a building site of Dubai proportions. Expect it to remain that way for years to come.

Dear Dave,

First of all, we would like to thank you for taking the time to share your impressions with us about our hotel IBEROSTAR Founty Beach. Please accept our sincere apologies for not being able to live up to your expectations.

We sincerely regret that you suffered a digestive disorder whilst in our hospitality; we have no medical reports of this type of illness. Our external medical service that serves us has noticed no increase in this type of case. Furthermore, our employees have not been affected by this particular ailment. We follow the same health and safety guidelines as at all of our European hotels. We are very sorry that you suffered with this condition and that it made your holiday with us less than perfect.

Furthermore, it has been quite disappointing to know that you have not been completely satisfied with your dining experiences with us. Gastronomy is such an important pillar in our hotels, with our professional chefs preparing fresh food on a daily basis, as we know that this is an important factor in a satisfactory holiday experience and we regret the inconvenience caused.

Also, on the same note we are saddened to read that you were disturbed by noise in our restaurant, and allow us say that we do empathize with you. It has been disappointing to read your comments regarding the amount of younger guests in our dining area during your holiday .Our staff members are always extra vigilant with children in our dining area however we must respect the fact that our younger guest’s behavior is very much the responsibility of the adults that accompany them. Despite this if necessary our management will intervene and politely inform parents for the safety of the children and for the benefit of our other guests. We are sorry that on this occasion we could not please you.

On the other hand, we are pleased to read that you thought that the beach next to our hotel was beautiful, and that our extensive gardens with a unique pool area and the surrounding areas were also excellent. We do hope that you allow us another opportunity and that we see you again in the future at one of our IBEROSTAR hotels.

Yours sincerely,

Quality manager
IBEROSTAR Founty Beach.
