I had a very good experience at Dar Loula. The staff is friendly and very helpfull towards all your needs. A very good choice on a budget, it's a hotel that made me feel welcome. The hotel can be quite hard too find for the first time, and we ended up calling the hotel to pick us up from the tourist office at the main square.
Breakfast, lunch, and before 6 there is dinner available (not included in hotel price). They have a very nice terrace on the roof, with a nice view and tables and chairs and electricity socket, perfect to relax. In addition there's also a jacuzzi and even the possibility of a massage.
Through the riad there were also a number of day-trips available, which I can highly recommend seeing as Marrakech itself is worth not more than two days, and very touristic at that. (This is most likely a deal that the day-trip companies make with nearly every hotel.)
Booking.com says they will deduct the money from your acccount within three days of the reservation, but the hotel doesn't actually do this, and you pay when checking out. I only found out about the tourist tax of 50 euro that Marrakech levies on the bill of the hotel. This is not to blame on the hotel though, and was a fitting goodbye to a city where everybody seems not-too-shy about wanting your money.More
