The hotel has really good breakfast, dinners are also nice and the rooms are also good (except there is no English tv channel).
On the internet it says that we could check-in as from 14h, but when we arrived at 16h they were still cleaning our room… They did do this very thoroughly though, because when I looked in the room they were ironing the sheets on the spot! But unfortunately the room was only ready after 17h30.
When we entered the room (nr. 3) there was a not so pleasant smell, and it was not in the bathroom but in the room itself. We thought it would go away, so we went for dinner but when we returned the smell was still there and you could really smell it entering the room. Also, because the room is between the poolside and the inside sitting area, we heard 2 kind of musics through the wall which was slightly annoying. But when we said this to the reception, they immediately stopped the music so thanks for this.
The guy at the reception told us that there was a strange smell in the room because of the previous guests, I don’t know (and don’t want to know) what they did in there. However, 5min later another guy (I think the manager) knocked at our door to ask if something was wrong, so we told him about the smell, and he just waived it away, saying that he didn’t smelled anything strange. Which was a little bit disappointing because the guy at the reception already acknowledged it without going into the room.
The next day we did receive some scented candles for in the room.
The hotel is really far from the city centre – we deliberately choose for a hotel that would be outside the centre but we didn’t know that it would be this far with really nothing else in the neighborhood. On the internet it ays that there is free transport to the centre of Marrakech, but this is only for the Medina. We checked with the guy earlier, because we were moving to another hotel nearby the train station, and he said it would be ok.
But when we checked out, it said 75 MAD on the bill for transport to the hotel, which was unfortunate. The more because we first received our bill, and it was not on it. What was also not on it was our massages that we had during our stay, and we were so kind to say that they forgot them. So they reprinted the bill and added the additional transport to it, even after we just pointed out that there was 630 MAD missing on the bill… Our honesty was not rewarded sadly.
Overall, the stay was good but the prices are relatively high compared to other good and nice hotels in Morocco. If we are ever going back to Marrakech, we won’t be staying in this hotel anymore.
