We stayed in the wonderful resort Ksar Char Bagh and booked for a dinner at Le Selman at 07:00 p.m. on January 1, 2018, which was confirmed by phone and e-mail. In order to check out the hotel for our next stay in Marrakech, we went there at around 4:30 p:m. to have a look still at day time. My wife was amazed by the inner decoration and took some fotos with her tablet. When she went to the bar alone she was admonished by Mme N., introducing herself as the owner and asking my wife in a rude tone what she is doing here and that she is not allowed to take pictures.
When the 2 of us returned to the bar later, Mme N. came again and introduced herself again as the owner, but no words of welcome or what so ever.
Even then we decided to stay an have a drink in the bar, only to know later that the restaurant will not be open before 8:00 pm.
This was the famous drop to much and we decided to leave this location (what we should have done already earlier), which will for sure be de-listed from our future place to stay and we return to our beautiful resort, where we knew that we were welcomed and the owner and staff do know what the word hospitality means and that the guests are the ones paying the salary of the staff.
Sad to say this as Le Selman is really a beautiful hotel.

Thank Marcel V

We were staying at the Beldi and decided to have a night out at the Selman close by. The hotel which is spectacularly beautiful has 2 restaurants, Le Pavillion which serves local cuisine and Le Restaurant Selman which is French. The food is first class, the service the same and the setting (we sat out on the terrace) stunning. This is not a budget restaurant so be prepared to pay in the region of £100 per head with wine.Saying that it was worth the experience.

Restaurant Selman is one of the best restaurants in Marrakech. The food is excellent and the service is on the highest level like in Le Meurice or Plaza Athenee. Morocco has amazing cuisine and I highly recommend trying various pastries and Moroccan wine.

We sat at outside as it was quite pleasant. The food was excellent. I had the ravioli and the chicken!! Silver service, great cocktails and decor (that is if you sit inside).
They also offer a bio menu ( for those interested) but I will certainly choose the "non-bio" dishes :-)

Ok, so basically, we tried all the best hotels in town (La Mamounia, Royal Mansour, Mandarin, Four Seasons...) and the Selman proves to be the best value for money for sleeping. The setting is just royal, gorgeous, beautiful, grand. The rooms are the most beautiful we've seen in Marrakech. And at 350 euros / night it is a bargain !
As for the restaurant, the cuisine was good enough (not exceptional, La Cour des Lions at Saadi palace is much better), the service was perfect and the overall experience was wonderful.
