This hotel is located near the Lars Homestead and Mos Eisley film sites, which makes it a good choice when visiting the area. We had a basic but clean and comfortable two-room suite that worked well for my wife and I plus two teenagers. The meals were decent and I quite enjoyed a bottle of Tunisian red wine purchased at the hotel. Wifi is only available near the office and the staff struggled with English, but security is good and the grounds are well-maintained.

My 7 year old son and myself stayed at the Residence in May 2014 for 2 nights and we both absolutely loved it. The hotel is right by the beautiful palmary and the rooms are spacious with a traditional feel.

All the staff were so friendly and helpful and they even put a three course dinner on for us for each evening which made it a lot easier than going out at night as a blonde, single woman with a young child. ;-) The food was freshly made and gorgeous. Simple but perfect.

There was nothing to fault during our stay and we would have stayed longer if I didn't have the next hotel on our round trip already booked.

A long overdue thank you to all the staff at the Residence.

Very much enjoyed our stay here. After a very long and nervous drive from Tunis, it was great to be met by the lovely staff member who spoke good english and helped with our bags, even though we were two hours past the stated check in time!
The room was spacious with a decent lounge room, a good bathroom with a good shower, and a very warm and comfortable bed. The room was quiet (with the exception of the call to prayer) and had a working tv and a great heating system.
Breakfast was bread, yoghurt, hard boiled eggs, mint tea/ coffee according to preference and more - plenty to keep you going.
The residence is a 15min walk into town, and the walk is lovely.

Would definitely recommend, the beautiful room and hospitality were second to none.

We stayed here whilst driving around Tunisia for a few days. We arrived two hours past our organised time after a holdup at the airport, we were greeted warmly and our bags taken from us as we were taken up to our room which was amazing. In another part of the world the room we had would have been called a suite and we would have been charged accordingly. Staff were extremely helpful and organised all of our tours for us. Breakfast was more than ample. The only place to stay in Tozeur!

This hotel is lovely, built in the distinctive traditional Tozeur brickwork with a lovely courtyard with jasmine bushes aplenty, but it is the manager (sorry, we never asked your name) that makes it a very special place to stay. He was a constant but inobtrusive presence for whom nothing was too much trouble - including dragging a dining room table outside for our lunch so we could sit in the sun!

The hotel is in a quiet and safe location close to the palmeraie and town. The bedrooms with en-suite are quiet, comfortable and spacious and in perfect working order (including the wifi). When we checked in we were told we had 'one big room and one small room', which turned out to be one big room and one HUGE room! It was too cold to use the pool, but it looked spotlessly clean. The food was a high point of our stay at l'Oued - we had eaten a lot of lentil soup and brik by the time we arrived, but this was the best lentil soup and brik we had tasted so far. The freshly cooked fish and handmade chips (to make the English feel at home perhaps?) was also excellent.

There is so much to do in and around Tozeur that we couldn't do it all in two days so I would love to come back, and would definitely stay here again.
