This was our third Mouradi on the trip. Like the other two the reception was magnificent, the pool was good and the rooms were perfectly clean and comfortable with a perfectly efficient air conditioning. The food was very similar to the other Mouradis and it would have been nice to have some freshly cooked dishes rather than platters kept hot under the lights that looked very similar to the ones that were there at lunchtime. I was also disappointed that the buffets seemed to be a kind of generic, 'lets please all the Westerners' type rather than one that included some authentic North African dishes. There is a nice bar and terrace where we tried Thibareme the local date liqueur, which is fine if you like cough medicine. As in all Mouradis, the staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel is located about a 1.5 km from the center of the city. Rooms are spacious, with a big wardrobe, comfortable double bed and a sofa with a table and a chair. Additionally you will find a table/chair with a mirror and a TV set. TV has only one English channel, i.e. CCTV - chineese information TV. Each room has a balcony, bathroom with a bath. You can find hair dryer, soap, mini shampoo and shower gel. Fridge under a TV set is accompanied with a key on a rope hunging from inside:) In order to use safe box, you need to pay 2 dinars per day plus 10 dinar deposit. WIFI is horribly expensive - 8 dinars per hour or 20 dinars per day (you can buy local Orange SIM card and use 3G mobile cheaper). Food is standard for Tunisian hotels (in fact almost the same as in 5 star Yasmine Hammamet Laico hotel), tasty, but each day more or less the same. Drinks are payed. Hotel do not provide water in rooms (neither do other hotels). The big advantage is the indoor pool (I've been there in December, so the outdoor pool water is not very warm), which is large and in good condition. The lobby bar in the evening operates efficiently, the only disadvantage is that almost everybody smoke here (everywhere). The hotel is a good choice for a short stay and the most convincing arguments to me is the quality of rooms and indoor pool. Enjoy your stay in Tunisia:)

We stayed here for two nights as part of a tour around Tunisia.

Bedroom basic and bathroom tatty. No soap, threadbare towels.
Thin walls and noisy.

Aircon not functioning in November, when it was still oppressively hot.

Expensive WiFi and room safe.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner were poor and often cold.

Me and my 3 friends were there in October 2011. for 1 day only on our trip through Tunisia..
We had a dinner there and food & drinks were excellent, and all you can eat and drink..
The lobby and rooms were great, big, with balcony and TV and everything you need in it.
With the hotel there is a big swimming pool and a bar.
All in all, great stay.

I took my family last April to tozeur,we stayed at el mouradi hotel, the most significant that you should plan is visiting the city, touring the local oasis and mostly do not forget to rent a landrover to the site of the famous and legendary star wars movie, besides that the hotel deserves its 4 star ranking.so go for it
