Excellent indoor pool. No wifi in room. Mediocre breakfast with no choice. Useless Antique TV. Fairly convenient for town and very near the great museum. Very pleasant restaurant (La Fontana) across the road.

it was a beautiful hotel we arrived about 6.30 and were shown to our rooms quickly then we had a lovely evening meal after which we relaxed around the hotel which has a nice swimming pool as we were getting up at 4 in the morning to go to the sahara desert in jeeps .... it has lovely lush palms all around it

Building looks attractive but it's not a great experience staying there. Yes, the place is spacious with large open areas and bright, simply furnished bedrooms, though the matresses and pillows are cheap. No air conditioning was available in late April when the temperature was hot and afternoon sun made rooms overlooking the pool uncomfortable. Low occupancy resulted in reduced staff and facilities. With a few exceptions, staff were unenthusiastic and inclined to put their own convenience ahead of their guests. I formed the impression that the place was poorly managed. Be prepared to pay extra for orange juice at breakfast and a fridge in your bedroom. Breakfast offers a limited choice and is not tempting. Buffet lunches and dinners are better but vegetables and fruit (apart from oranges) are poorly represented. That said, it's pleasant to eat out of doors on the terrace overlooking the pool. Be aware when paying your bill. The maximum daily amount accepted by the hotel on a credit card is 1000 Tunisian dinars. If your bill exceeds this amount, take two or more credit cards or pay with one over several days. The cash machine outside the hotel tends to runs short of cash

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the palm oasis avoid the intense afternoon sun

Very clean, nice views, fantastic pool, friendly staff. The carpet and hallways did look old and need replaced, but until the economy and the tourists return, it's not going to happen. However, our room was clean and the furnishings pleasant. The bed was not the most comfortable, but we had the surprise of having some sort of a suite, with another 2 beds in the TV room. The blankets were pretty and seemed local, but they were not very warm. The restaurant had plusses and minusses. On the plus side, the service was great, the food plentiful and varied, and what I enjoyed the most is that for breakfast you could cook your own eggs in a tub of boiling water, which allowed us to make soft-boiled eggs. On the minus side, the quality of the food was not the greatest. Fish was not great, of course this is the desert so really we shouldn't be choosing fish at the buffet! But the salads and other dishes were a bit plain and not prepared by a very great chef I thought. This is a beautiful hotel but a bit quaint: you got an actual key to your room, that you had to give to the front desk when you went out. And at check-in they gave you a big remote for the old-fashioned TV ! If you go to Tozeur, I would recommend that you study ahead of time what to do in the area. There is a lot to do, but the locals and even the office of tourism are rather unhelpful, don't have maps, and don't tell you all that is available.

4 star? U will soon forgot quite giant and inviting entrance hall. Time ago, maybe it was 4 stars. Everything now looks old, particularly room and furniture. Not very clean everywhere with terrible moquette in some common area. Restaurant: poor choice, uninviting atmosphere and presentations of food. Stay away.
