HAve been there for dinner a couple of times. Maybe went to earlyy as it was very quiet with a few heavily made up local lasses hanging around teh bar counter situated in teh middle of the restuarant. Not ny favourite place

La Terrasse is where I go when I'm not sure where else to go in BKO. It's a big open terrace that has a bit of relaxed sports bar theme (huge TV always showing soccer) but with enough food options that you can go before the party's started elsewhere, eat, drink, and then stick around for the live music that starts around 11pm. The place is loud and the music sound quality is not the best, but you can go with a big group and not worry about disturbing anyone because there's so much space. It's not a destination restaurant but it is a reliable and comfortable place to go, especially before heading to other Hippodrome clubs and bars.

I haven't gone to the salsa nights, but they're supposed to be really good!

Patio bar above VIP and new Cotton club on blabla street in hippodrome. Surprisingly not bad for mosquitoes!

Offers decent priced drinks (prices between maquis and club prices) and, lately, friends made me discovered their burgers! Food is good, great prices and good quality. Serves late too.

Very popular expat hangout, but also great to meet people.

In the heart of the Hippodrome, the Terrace is an institution. It is a large open space with a bar and tables. Very attractive space complete with faux Djenné architechure, hanging plants, blown-glass, and thatch on one end. Thu-Sat nights there is dancing, often with Salsa music. (Salsa is really a phenomenon here in Bamako.) The menu is nothing special but adequate, I usually get the ubiquitous brochettes de Capitaine (nile perch) or beef. Pizzas are decent. Drinks are quite good. Big expat hangout.

It's a nice open air bar with decent music and acceptable prices but in no case you can call it a restaurant !
