I stayed at HGH twice. The first time was in the budget wing, which left me wondering how it got so many great reviews (very loud at night and just generally kind of dark and grimy).

The second time (for an extra few dollars) I stayed in a deluxe room - so worth the little bit of extra money!! Nice and quiet at night, big comfy bed, great shower, clean, with a beautiful view of the garden.

The garden is a great spot to come and relax after a busy day in the city. The food at the restaurant is also delicious (best saag paneer ever!). The staff are also great, very friendly.

Room tip: Ask for garden view, deluxe room!

The hotel has a budget and "posh" wing. We were in the budget wing which had a very dated and crumbling toilet. The facilities listed in the booking confirmation were not available in the budget rooms. So booking accordingly.

The hotel is in a good location with a lovely outdoor eating area down a quiet street just a few minutes walk away from the heart of busy Thamel.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

The Hotel Ganesh is wonderful place to stay in Kathmandu. The staff of both the reception and the restaurant were so very gracious and friendly. Clean & quiet rooms, with reliable hot water at any time of day or evening. The beautiful restaurant courtyard was a great place to start and end the day! I would book this hotel again in a heartbeat - an incredible value. About a 10 minute walk from all the restaurants and shops in the Thamel District.

We loved this hotel! From the moment we arrived in Nepal it was a great experience. Everyone was very kind and attentive, they picked us up from the airport, and helped us organize whatever we might need during our stay. We stayed in a standard room which was clean and perfect for two people, and great value for the price. We loved the garden, and ate breakfast there every morning. The location is also perfect, because it is quiet and set off of the main roads, but is only a 5 minute walk to Thamel, and walking distance from other main tourist spots like Durbar square and the monkey temple. We would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again!

A very clean and comfortable hotel. Even the standard rooms are pleasant. The staff are very helpful. The quiet green central courtyard provides a sanctuary in the city but there are also comfortable, airy balconies and a roof-top area with views over the city.
