Owner description: Siamese Cookery House was opened by Goong, Non and Nam, formerly of Silom Thai Cooking School. The trio opened their cooking school in a 100 year old house in a local neighborhood in Bangkok and have brought the same passion, warmth, and fun to their smaller and cozier cooking school. They have pledged to donate a portion of their sales to help the local neighborhood children and love to show students around the neighborhood during the local market tour. Students will buy fresh ingredients, then learn about local spices before making their favorite Thai dishes under the guidance of these professional teachers. Come and learn more about Thai food today at Siamese Cookery House!

Booked this last minute and it was our absolute highlight of Bangkok! The two hosts Nan and Goong were so lovely and welcoming, the whole place is really intimate and charming! Such a personal experience, it didn’t feel rushed at all with our hosts chatting to us loads in between the cooking. We made 4 traditional dishes which were unbelievably tasty, massam curry was our favourite!! You also get to eat each meal right after you’ve cooked it which is great if you’re hungry like us! At the end of the day we were also given some good tips for the afternoon and the recipe book to take away is a perfect touch! Best cooking class we’ve done so far in Asia!

This was my favorite experience in Bangkok hands down. Non and Goong were the most pleasant hosts the entire time, joking with us and making us feel comfortable as if we were longtime friends. We started off at the market. Non took the time to explain each element of food and how it is used. When we saw live frogs being served he even offered us to have it in our food, which I did. The market was an unforgettable experience and getting to buy each item ourselves made the trip worth it.

At the studio, we sat intimately together on the floor to prepare each meal. It was a hot day, but the intimacy of sitting together and preparing each step was well worth it. No pre-made pastes here. Everything was made by scratch. The flow of eating and cooking worked seamlessly. Non stayed with us the entire time, joking and speaking to each of us in the group in our own language. What a charismatic guy! The two of them, Non and Goong really made the trip special. And we got a cookbook to try the food ourselves in the end. Really special experience.

A superb cooking class in Bangkok! My wife and I attended. We were met right on time at the advertised location and taken around the market, shown how to buy the right and best ingredients. A short Tuk Tuk ride (great fun!) to the cookery house with our baskets of fresh food. We prepped and cooked 4 courses, 3 mains and one dessert, and all were delicious! Our guide was very funny and friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. On top of that he was fluent in six languages including English. The experience doesn't drag on and is about 4 hours all up which is perfect.

I would highly recommend this cooking class to anyone!

I enjoyed the cooking class so much:) Nam and Goong we very friendly and eager to share their knowledge of Thai cuisine and culture. I loved all the dishes we made and I enjoyed talking to them. The short trip to the market was also interesting and informative. This is one of the best things I did in Bangkok!:)

This was my first time cooking anything Thai ever - but under Khun Nam’s expert guidance I must say the results were amazing. Really did learn a lot of great tips, recipes and insights into Thai cooking culture - all delivered in a serious of casual and fun interactive sessions, separated by sittings to just enjoy the food. That made for a perfect balance and an all-out fun evening at Siamese Cookery House. Big thanks to Khun Nam for her patience and encouraging smiles :D
