Decent stay don't expect too much

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 22 Sept 2012via mobile
Went during the week of 3Sep'12. it was an alldealsasia arrangement and I picked this hotel out of the 3 listed in the package. location is quite near to Platinum Mall but local drivers doesn't seem to know how to go. the stern looking lady at the counter had a bit of an attitude but was able to provide useful info about getting around. no problem with the rest of the staff. room is ok, but it looks better in the website photos. spotted a mini roach near the sink and a small centipede at the lobby. prob crawled due to the wet weather. for the price and location it's quite value for money but there are better ones around for that amount. and cleaner

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nites with a group of friends. From the moment we walk in we felt like home the asian way. Its the warmth of the 2 leading ladies of this hotel that made our stay excellent. They are superbly helpful and informative.

The rooms are basic well kept (maybe its new), cute little elephant shaped towels, simple breakfast and free wifi. Its location is a walking distance to pratunam, indra plaza, erawan shrine, central chidlom, central world.

As my needs are clean rooms, good distance to public transport, friendly service, i would say this is a good place. Look out for the Bank next to it as a landmark as the hotel signs are not on street level and would not recommend this hotel to those who cannot walk much.

Room tip: email to hotel for request. they are accomodative

3 walking distance to Erwane Shrine.
4) near macdonald

Cons
1)late housekeeping that cleans my room late
2) not bar girl friendly...need to pay a fee

Stayed with the Venice Suite for 3 nights. overall stay was comfortable. Room is quiet and clean. Glad that we could have good rest after a long hectic day. 3 types of breakfast sets to choose from. We all chose the American breakfast which consist of a toast, one sausage and one piece of ham. Coffee and tea is self-serve. Nothing too fancy about the breakfast, but at least it could fill up your tummy if you are starting your day early.

Its located in the Pratunam area. Less than 10 mins walk to the Pratunam Market and 15 minutes fast walk to BigC and Central World and BTS. As it is not located very near to the BTS, we ended up taking taxi and tuktuk everywhere we go. Many taxi drivers do not know where this hotel is located. On board a taxi, you have to be very specific when giving directions to the driver as the hotel is 'hidden' at one corner. otherwise, once missed the turn, you have to re-route which will take you another 20mins due to the bad traffic condition.

Got a great deal with Groupon for a trip to Bangkok in July and decided to try out on Bangkok Venice Suites! The staff was friendly, helpful and able to communicate in good English. On my first day arrived at the lobby after a flight delay to land at the Suvarnabhumi Bangkok Airport for my check in the staff will hand over to you a map of the hotel and explained to you places of interest. At the back of the hotel is a carnal which links to all the major tourist spot by boat. Great place for shopping everywhere is at a walking distance Big C, Siam Paragon, Platinum and many many more. Beside the hotel is a Thai bank with ATM's, many many 7-11 shops and Mc Donalds. The only problem here is the bad traffic at peak hours, and the is no room service so you can order food at night if you get hungry? The only way to get out of traffic and expensive charge on taxi and tuk-tuk is to get yourself to Chid Lom station Skytrain about 15-20 minutes just at the back junction road of the hotel pass over the bridge you will never miss it. Hungry no worries u can try great thai food just across the main road or try the rice burger at 7-11 and if you don't mind walking around 10 minutes there is a 24hrs Mc Donalds.

Room tip: Get rooms with river view must better!

I was on several trips to Bangkok to settle on some business end 2011 and discovered this 'Secret Hideout'. I stayed at this hotel for 4 times in 2 months. The room was priced reasonably cheap and the staffs were very friendly. The managers speak good English and willing to explain in details if you have question.

Room is pretty cosy and free wifi. Expect some road noise as its kinda near the main road. Also Expect some river boat noise as its just beside the river boat-stop (depending on which room you're getting).

Yes! Near a river boat-stop. Thats how they named their hotel - Bangkok Venice.

Its closed to CentralWorld and Platinum. And if you dun mind walking further, you can reach Siam Paragon and MBK.

Morning and evening traffic is bad. And I mean real bad. Just need a little patience if you wanna get a taxi.
