We stayed at this hotel from 4 Jan to 8 Jan 2013. Took up 2 King and 1 Queen bedroom. The rooms are cosy and clean except for the aircon in the King bedrooms are a bit noisy. Location is superb, ideally located within walking distance to malls and pratunam market. The owner, Vincent is friendly and helpful. He gave us tips to move around Bangkok. Overall, we are satisfied with our stay at this hotel.
I took a risk to book Ideal hotel after reading mix reviews for it's location. It's located in a small lane behind Shibuya19 Mall, and there's a sign on the street directing you to the hotel in the lane, just have to keep a look-out for it as street-hawkers may be blocking the sign.
It's 5 mins walk to the Plantinum Mall and there are street shopping along the way and about 15mins walk to Central World and Big C is opposite Central World. From Central World another 15mins to Siam series shopping centre and MBK.
Vincent is indeed a very nice & friendly guy. We arrived in the morning and he offered us breakfast :) while they confirm the room for us. When we returned to check-in at 2pm, our luggages are already brought up to the room.
Our room is on the 4th floor facing the lane of the hotel main entrance, although there's no view but the rooms & bathrooms are clean and neat. It would be perfert if there is a shelve for toiletries in the bathroom :) Hair-dryer, electric kettle & safe box is provided in the room. Instant Noodles, coffee & tea are provide in the lobby.
Daily breakfast is simple and good for a boutique hotel.

Ideal Pratunam is a gem of a good deal when youre looking for clean and an inexpensive place to stay in Thailand. It is strategically located in the middle of the Pratunam. District within 5- 10 minutes walking distance to the malls. The rooms are clean and spacious for a boutique hotel. The elevator has access keys which make the traveler feel secure that no other people except the guests can go up the rooms. The owner , Mr Vincent is very helpful and the staff is equally friendly. Wifi is free and The complimentary breakfast is surprisingly good , compared to other boutique hotels I've been. The hotel is in an alley secluded enough to not be that noisy but near enough to where the action is. I would definitely consider staying here again and this hotel comes highly recommended for the budget traveler .
2nd times to IDEAL HOTEL. Still feel very comfortable with friendly staff and owner VINCENT is STILL very very HELPFUL and KIND. I have went to many country for travel this was the HOTEL that I feel the OWNER is REALLY friendly. The most can't believe is when I tell VINCENT that my friend was pure VEGETARIAN , Vincent volunteer to provided good breakfast for her....

it's my 1st stayed in this hotel, their location right inside the small road at the back of shibuya 19th shopping mall, it's little hard to located at the first time
the room was very small, and that's make the aircon was so cold, but comfy and very clean,
the bathroom also clean but small.
and the owner was very nice, helpful and always smiling :)
at first I tough the gang street at night will be so scary, dark and noboby to walk around, but I found it's very wrong, with a 7eleven shop infront of the gang street it's not even dark and scary since lot's of people still going to 7eleven shop.
if you traveled with a budget, this is the right choice :) it's worth it really ...
