It was my first trip to Thailand and I stayed in this hotel for a conference.
The hotel is set by vibrant Chao Praya river offering spectacular view from the room. The room was clean with a good & comfortable bed. The restaurant was great and the breakfast was delicious & relishing.
The downside is that the hotel is not located in a great location or may be it might be a problem with our non-understanding of local language we had trouble finding the same. There were some delayed room service especially during nights but never mind.
The hotel provides a complimentary river boat service to the sky train station.
On the last of our conference three of my colleagues got stuck into the elevator and it took almost an hour to get them out. The hotel management apologized and even offered freebies to them but I wonder if they would forget that never-lasting one hour.

Dear mangalgm,

We are delighted that you enjoyed the overall service and facilities of hotel while here for a conference.

Unfortuantely, you mentioned some delays in receiving your room service orders in the evening and for this we apologize. All food orders should be delivered within 30 minutes and if a longer preparation time is required for the dish, this should have been communciated upon receiving the order. We have re-emphasized this with the team and will do our best to ensure that improvements are made.

As for the lift getting stuck, this was an unfortunate incident which we did our best to resolve for the guests as quickly as possible. Our response team was in instant contact with them, constantly keeping them updated with the situation. As the safety of our guests is of utmost priority, we needed to work with the proper technicians to get the problem resolved and this particuar situation involved working with a 3rd party service. Ultimately, we were able to get everyone out in about 45 minutes. We take this opportunity to thank the guests who were in the lift for their patience and cooperation during that time. We would also like to assure you that 3rd party audits and inspections are conducted on a regular basis at the hotel to ensure full compliance and certification of the lift equipment and operations.

Thank you for your concern. As you mentioned enjoying your stay at the hotel despite the above incidents, we do hope to have you back at the Royal Orchid Sheraton on a future visit, perhaps for leisure!

Sincerely,

Tina Liu

We stayed here for two nights on our way home from Europe. Usually we stay in the Silom area but decided this time to stay by the river. We had a weekend rate - 91 euros a night for a deluxe room with a wonderful breakfast. Check in staff and indeed everyone we came across were very welcoming. As mentioned in other reviews, all rooms have a view of the river which is really interesting, particularly seeing the barges being towed along by tugboats. Rooms are smallish and the shower is in the bath which is quite high although there are two railings to assist you in and out. There was no noise other than the usual banging of doors from the hallway. I wish someone could invent a hotel door that didn't bang or that I could stay at hotels where every guest was careful! The shuttle boat to the train station was helpful and we really enjoyed our stay here but we would most likely stay up in the Silom area again or investigate the Shangri La which is on the river and close to the station. The concierge recommended the Gallery Cafe which is on the corner of the street the hotel is in - the food was fabulous, authentic Thai. There were computers with free internet access on level 1 (plus wi fi for your own) but you had to pay if you wanted wi fi in your room.

I have had a great time at this Hotel in the Heart of Bangkok and the hospitality of the staff in the three days of my conference stay.
Each Dining Venue is unique and some great food concepts. The evening entertainment in the lobby is heart warming exhibiting the local cutlure of the city.
The hotel has so much character in it that I wish to make a trip very soon again !

My wife & I both seniors enjoyed the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel very much during our eleven (11) night stay in late April and early May 2011. The room and bathroom were very clean with plenty of towels and the King bed mattress was like new, very comfortable; our room was on the 16th floor and overlooked the river and it was a great view. We also used their tour office for a fun trip to Ayutthaya visiting Bang Bang Pa In Palace, also rode elephants on this day tour, and took a river boat back to the City Center Plaza located right next to the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel in Bangkok.
In Particular, Somkiat Laiklang Chief Concierge was excellent in every way; extending his help way beyond any expectations; additionally his staff was also excellent. He makes Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel great. Also during our 11 night stay my wife fell and sprained her ankle, ice was provided on numerous occasions as requested and always very promptly. The house keeping staff was very helpful in making up our room at odd hours because of my wife's injury, we often requested the room to be made up in mid afternoon. A Wheel chair was provided very promptly for my wife's needs. The entire staff has a great attitude and that makes this hotel special. We were also referred to the Harmonique Thai restaurant by the Chief Concierge, its about a ten minute walk and we ate there several times and the food and service was excellent in a quaint setting and the prices were very reasonable. You will not make a mistake in staying at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel in Bangkok.

Dear Sailorworm,

Thank you for making the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers your home away from home during your lengthy visit earlier this year.

We are sorry that your wife hurt her ankle toward the end of stay but that our associates were able to assist in making the situation less uncomfortable. Hopefully, she has fully recovered by now.

Your kind recognition of the team has also been shared, particularly Khun Somkiat, our Chief Concierge who I'm sure was happy to assist during your visit. I am sure he has many more recommendations to offer for your next trip to Bangkok!

Sincerely,

Tina Liu

This Hotel is possibly one of the best hotels I have stayed in.
Myself and friend both Travel agents stayed at this hotel for 2nights before continuing our trip north.

Check-In
Fast, welcoming and a great start to the experience.

Room
We got upgraded to one of the executive Tower rooms with views over the river. Stunning. Very large beds with a very large selection of pillows on the menu. The bed was very very comfy and after the long flight very welcomed. The pool on higher part is open untill 10pm so we had a lovely dip and went back to our rooms later to get changed ready to go out for dinner. The room had a conecting door to a very loud screaming german family with unruley children. I called down to the reception to advise this and next minute I heard the phone of next door ring then silence. Next minute our door bell rang and a very nice man came and brought us to soft drinks.

Breakfast
Well wher do I start you could have traditional Thai, Full English,Continental they had everything you could think of and it was cooked beautifully. Your plates where removed and the staff at the front to welcome you where fantastic.

The following day we went to get the small boat which is next to the hotel up an alley that looked like something from harry potters bygone alley. we paid 25bht and it took you to the sights up the river. We got off at the Royal Palace. I didnt feel well from the flying so we decided to head back and lay round the pool. It was very easy to get drinks and the Mai Thai is one too try.

Entertainment
Well what do you say to the Thai version of the Beatles. They where brill. Very good and entertaining and kept up giggling for hours.

All in all would definately come back to this hotel was a brilliant start to our trip. If you want good food, Good service a good sleep this is definately somewhere to stay.

Dear VAM88,

It is great to know that as travel industry experts, you enjoyed your stay at our porperty during your recent trip through Thailand.

While we are sorry to hear that you were not feeling well on one of the days out sightseeing, it is good to know that you were able to return and relax at the hotel instead. Despite the noise disturbance experienced, we are also happy to learn that this was quickly resolved and that you were able to get a good nights rest throughout your vist.

We certainly hope that you and your friends will return to Bangkok to visit the sights that were missed on this occassion and we look forward to welcoming you back by the River of Kings!

Sincerely,

Tina Liu
