I recently had a weekend-long stay at this hotel as part of a work trip. I usually travel alone and am responsible for managing all aspects of my travel arrangments. And on previous visits to Bangkok, I've usually been based in the Sukhumvit district. However, on this trip, I arrived as part of a small group and had everything taken care on my behalf. Nevertheless, the check-in process at reception (incidentally located on the twenty-third floor, if I remember correctly) was rapid and fuss-free. Being an IHG member, I also received a small souvenir - a nice touch. I was assigned a room on the club floor although the booking did not come with access to the club lounge. While very clean, I found the interior decor looking a little dated; and due to its shape, the clothes cupboard seemed to be wedged into a corner. Regardless, I had no issues with the amenities in the room - very comfortable bed, plenty of room for my gear as well as for laying out the ironing board, and a reasonably spacious bathroom. On the first night, I also ordered room service and was very satisfied with my fried rice which went very well with a fried egg and sliced chilli. A daily breakfast buffet at the hotel's Panorama Restaurant (reviewed separately) was included with the booking, and it was interesting coming down the glass-windowed elevators to the reception floor. I did not have any other meals at the hotel but, being located in the Silom district, there were many dining options and some shopping opportunities located only several minutes walk away. And while I did not have time to travel far, public transport, in the form of the Sala Daeng BTS and Silom MRT stations were also within easy walking distance. Ultimately, I was very pleasantly surprised by my experienced at the hotel, despite the rather-too-short amount of time I had, and plan to be back for a return visit.More
