Hugely enjoyed the dim sum lunch the Yok restaurant. Excellent knowledgeable, friendly and efficient service, good food and selection, and super value. Five dim sum dishes, fruit and drinks for around THB 350 per person. Well worth a visit.

Actually I do not have achance to stay at the hotel but rather attended the meeting including organized meeting here for quite a few time. This hotel has operated for quite a long time. I would not give it a 4.5 star but 4 star at the most. However, there are many good reasons to use the service here. First the price is right for both the toon and organizing any event. Second the location is considered to be mid town where u can travel to the hotel by MRT Huaykwang station. Third, There are big shopping mall with in walking distance or less than 10 minutes by car to even bigger, newer, trendy mall providing the traffic is not bad. Fourth, buffet line for lunch has varieties of food for every one even for each specific group such as hallal food. The taste are great too. However the traffic around the area is quite bad so you have to spare time for travel especially at rush hour. Also there are a lot of massage palour in the neighborhood so if you do not like bright, light of entertaining in big city style, you may want to avoide staying here.

Was here for a short trip and decided to try a hotel in the Huai Khwang area instead of the usual Sukhumvit stretch.

Location wise, it's located along the stretch of Ratchadaphisek Road, a short stroll to the Huai Khwang MRT station, go getting around to the rest of BKK by train is convenient. Lining both sides of the hotels are the large entertainment complexes/massage parlours - if you're so inclined.

Checking in was reasonably fast, the hotel lobby was large but as with everything else, looked a little dated. The room was reasonably large, with a double bed, 2 lounge chairs and a desk. Bedroom slippers and in-room safe was provided, as was a mini-bar and the ubiquitous hot water kettle for coffee/tea.

Bathroom was also a good size with a tub as well as a glass-walled shower cubicle (which I must say was also quite large).

However, there were evident signs that the place needs better maintenance - the metal frames of the shower cubicles were rusted, the rubber gasket for the shower door was broken at the bottom, causing water to leak out of the cubicle when you were showering. On Day 2 of my stay the airconditioning started leaking, which prompted an ad hoc maintenance call to clear the choked pipe (lack of regular maintenance?).

The rooms also did not have sufficient power points, especially at the bed-side tables.

Other than that, the rooms were spotlessly clean. Service staff were polite and service was prompt when needed (i.e. my early morning aircond problem). The airconditioning was also too cold, even when the set point was at 24.5 Celcius, likely a thermostat issue so I had to turn it up (from 22 - 25C) and sometimes to have it off for short periods even.

Buffet breakfast was pretty good, with a nice selection and tasty as well. Especially liked the porridge which was very tasty!

Fitness centre was also pretty good, with separate areas for cardio equipment (treadmills) and free weights, so a nice plus point there.

Overall, I would give this place 3.5/5 stars. You get more than what you pay for and if you can overlook the small niggling issues then it should be a pretty good value-for-money stay in Bangkok.

The Rooms are spacious but abit old. Havea smell but once air con is on will be gone in a while. The buffet breakfast is good. Just that the whole hotel is old. The rest are great including service. Oh another point is that it is away from the main happenings of Bangkok central area.

We booked through the hotels website and got a deluxe room for approx AUD 75, so weren't really expecting too much, but were completely blown away with the level of service, and the ammenities at this hotel! Room was large and very well appointed, staff could not have been more helpful and the breakfast buffet (included) was an amazing array of dishes. Highly recommended.
